** Update Pack hasn't been updated for last two months and it won't be in the near future. Service Pack 2 is on its way so I see no point wasting time, instead, after Service Pack 2 release I will probably make a brand new Update Pack with Post-SP2 updates. There's also ongoing discussion on MSFN forums http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=56778

Does the Ryan integrator work with 64, because not working for me, says no i386 dir?

Currently it doesn't... but I am in the process of making it work just like 32bit editions do. :)

Currently my tests have indicated that it worked... but during install of 2k3 Standard x64 I have some missing files in txtmode setup. I'm not sure if it is a bug that I can't figure out... or if it is a bug in the updatepack.

You can expect x64 support in v1.2.3 of the integrator. ;)

Edit:
I'm pretty sure it's a bug of the updatepack.
none of the files that I had errors on existed in the updatepack or the original disk.

These are the files:

Code: Select all

wmuweb.dll
ww03a2409.dll
waxaltocm.dll
wbasecsp.dll
wbcsprsrc.dll
wifxcardm.dll
wmmc30.dll
wmmc30r.dll
wmmcex.dll
wmmcexr.dll
wmmcfxc.dll
wmmcfxcr.dll
wmmcperf.exe
wmsxml6.dll
wmsxml6r.dll
wdfsrhlpr.dll
wverclsi.exe
Any ideas?

I'm gonna test again using WinXP x64 instead.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug of the updatepack.
And I'm pretty sure that it is a problem with integrator. To me it looks like files that are new and that were not on the orgunbal disk were not moved correclty to I386 dir.

Plese recheck if these files exist in i386:

Code: Select all

wmuweb.dll
ww03a2409.dll
waxaltocm.dll
wbasecsp.dll
wbcsprsrc.dll
wifxcardm.dll
wmmc30.dll
wmmc30r.dll
wmmcex.dll
wmmcexr.dll
wmmcfxc.dll
wmmcfxcr.dll
wmmcperf.exe
wmsxml6.dll
wmsxml6r.dll
wdfsrhlpr.dll
wverclsi.exe
What does integrator use to extract .cabs? If it uses an expand.exe, then expand.exe can not see deeper that 1 dir. Compare filenames in txtsetup.sif with entries.ini and actual files in i386 & amd64 to find out where integrator errors. Or send integrator to me.

I can succesfully integrate and install pack on server x64 using either manual or nlite to integrate. Thanks.

You might be correct. I forgot that I had to hardcode the certain directories within the cab files that are extracted. I am gonna work on a better method. Any reccommendations on a good dos based tool for extracting all files and subfolders?

Edit:
Hmmm... I just did a test and it seems like it fully extracts subfolders. I'll do some more tests.

Edit2:
I found the issue. :) It was because I decided to use my new [DirMove] section in the entries.ini file. DirMove does not work very well for moving a directory over an existing directory. It ends up placing the directory within the existing directory instead of overwriting it.

To do it right we have to use the new [FileMove] section like this:

Code: Select all

[FileMove]
x64_i386\*,..\I386\*
x64_i386\Lang\*,..\I386\lang\*
By using this it works perfectly! :D

Have you tried to use 7za to do the extractions with it? Just a thought.

I have found a new version of qfecheck.exe, version 6.1.0.0. Would anyone like me to upload it the file.

I got the files from here

There is an x64 version of qfecheck.exe included.

yes, it makes perfect sense to add it, BUT

if you take a clean xp pro x64 and replace flash.ocx with new version, windows will not install correctly because i guess flash.ocx is unsigned. x64 oses are bit different to get around this you need to disable sfc or toggle unsigned driver policy in main hiv(s).inf

i just don't want to make patching sfc a necessary thing when just installing update pack, while i got workaround for this, it would make an user to lots of manual editing which he or she wouldn't even want to.

Basically what trying to say, you cannot replace any files in amd64 or i386 folder unless they come straight from microsoft. in this situation flash.ocx does not qulify, and windows rejects it during install, basically install stops at copying flash.ocx but you cannot see that, after that everything fails, all files that were supposed be copied, registered fail etc.

you can think of it as inlcuding broken sysoc.inf entry.

i could get away with this if i could get specific cat for it along for microsoft plus calculator because it replaces files too.

i posted some info and this in my faq on my site.

edit: as far as i remember there was specific hotfix release for this, mybe i should include it
