[Release] AIO XP component Removals |2007/03/06|Final!

Post by ENU_user » Fri Jan 26, 2007 4:50 pm

  • AIO XP component Removals
addons are collected in to a single archive

running first a_base-addon_removals-!.CAB in the pack .
don't forget to run it once and before the others.

Tip: if you feal some removal didnt run well just run it again ,all addons are recycble now
this can happen when using nlite aswell ,then you cannot run the same removal once already used
every thing was maintained to suite nlite
so you could continue moding\removing stuff with nlite
but not with the latest version oops :/
    FileName : ENU--aioXp-removals-03.06.07_v0.1-.rar
    ChangeLog : .. initialized
    download
    MD5: B0FDA21DFFE1099B2F43668329FD70A2

they where working well but i need little time here to test them off with a new approach
then i think these will be fully qualified and worth using and fully nlite compatible
ill try to release some that i had changed ,so you can have some to start of with .

@ENU_user I reccommend you try to explain exactly how this works. I haven't had a chance to use it yet... but I will try it soon. I'm trying to understand exactly what this is doing?
In your a_base-addon_removals-!.CAB it looks like it is adding a bunch of files and removing stuff from the Hive and txtsetup files. HexEditing sfcfiles.dll and SYSSETUP.DLL.

So it is not possible to use the removal addons without integrating a_base-addon_removals-!.CAB first?

Is i386\REM\ENU's-REM.exe somehow removed upon completion?

Thanks

this is long good reading to you all ;)

it is completely based on nlite and tested for xp corporate edition only
all patches edits .etc

1) the reason for using the first file to be integrated is to add the additional files :
necessary for the other removals to work correctly .
(when the tool runs independently it will align tabs and spaces remove empty lines in the hivexxx *.inf on every run)

when the tool runs first with it will align tabs and spaces in the hivexxx *.inf and syssetup.inf
this will remove the mess and make ready grounds
for removals to get edited successfully
and once the changes done to hivexxx *.inf and syssetup.inf are met with

2) you will find some edits in Entries _base-addon_removals-!
the reason:same as above just so if you would like to use driver removals when integrating strait from a cd
like this its the first entries that gets to be read\edited
then integrator can edit the others accordingly to the changes it does in this case to hivesys.inf

only problem remains for these to work well is with [Hexedit] entries in driver removals ...
* i think it would be great if you can change the way it runs concerning how it edits cabbed files .

3 ) as you have suggested & asked for more info :
the ENU's-REM.exe will work/works also with rvmtemp folder for any line removals needed their only for txtsetup and DOSNET.INF and
faster then integrator mostly only if their is much to be removed then used
then sends the files right back to rvmtemp folder before integrator has finished its tasks

it will work with all information files pars and remove lines strait away from what echo commands you have in the bat files
it removes all ;comments from lines lines like nlite does ;)

*.log naming is used if you want to remove lines from hivexxx.inf only shouldn't be used with *.ini naming
*.ini naming to remove lines from regular inf files
*.sh naming for removing lines out of coded information files

it expands sfcfiles delete the cabbed then checkmark's the file( on every run ).
the i386\REM\ENU's-REM.exe doesn't get removed as it is needed for these addons to work in their current design

off topic :siginet did you read my pm regarding post reply on youre website
if you like this method enough.. i can make a post for this on you're site if thats what you desire spesially now that they are complete and tested.

not sure how this landed thier:
remove masconfig.exe line from [obsolete_entries] in help removal

if you already used help removal and need it back now!
make an entries_msconfig-restore_.ini file
with :
[Dosnet_Files]
d1,msconfig.exe
[Txtsetup_Files]
msconfig.exe = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0

in due time jim

before i can re-host this again i will need to run a test on with the latest beta of integrator as well
since the current public one doesn't fully do what it was aimed to do regarding hex edits ,the beta one will ...
since I haven't been around lately i will have to give this another good whirl before i can re-host ,and will need to test each of the addons included .etc

when ready i will use ryans hosting so it can finally stay up.

more work for me .. anyways i hope i can get something made soon for you guys awaiting these addons. thanks for the heads up!

have a great day!
cheers

I was adding Addons to the new Addons Database:
http://integrator.siginetsoftware.com/i ... ?pg=addons
and I noticed this Addons download link is broken. :(

Let me know when the link is fixed and I can change it in the database. ;)

Also I can give you a posting account if you sign up for one in this thread:

...i can't do much to update right now ,and wouldn't want to put up something that isn't complete or outdated
the removals need to offer work grounds for the file Protection as-well
if the built-in hexedit offered to replace full strings regardless to address or version i would have tried it long ago
and was going to do all this using portable apps ... but decided not to .its better to do it all with Entries & integrator alone.
if hexedit offered to replace strings by patterns instance only,, this job is then valid for all file versions and upcoming future ones..
pending the job strictly to file version| and address| cant help in this case
same resolution goes for some systemfile patches but they are like for 4 or 5 files , the patches using version|address for these are easy to update ...
