Image As shown on MSFN: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=10623.
This add-on adds System Restore to the Accessories category in Add/Remove Programs, allowing the user to completely remove or reinstall System Restore from a RUNNING system.

Looks handy cos I keep getting problems which seem to randomly knock out system restore from some builds I do, even though they work on other builds.
I have a laptop where system restore doesn't work so can try this and see if it will let me add it in.

EDIT: Version 1.1 removed because DefaultUninstall section seems to be causing grief in other add-ons of mine. I decided to remove it from this add-on as well as a precaution.

Most important question is why and everything begins of your choice

This is not a replacement of the system restore "feature", but rather a method to be able to remove it if you don't like the component. I don't know if you can remove it by default in an unattended install, but you can remove it once the system is installed.

yeah..well. I accept the answer, but there is such program XPlite. With that you can remove nearly any component and yes, you can remove the system restore component with nlite. OK! Thats another story and i know - the forum doesnt support nlite.

Well, if you want to completely remove it from the system, then that's a good way to go. However, this is for anyone that may want to remove it after the OS has been installed. It also enables one to reenable it on that system. You can't do that with XPlite because it completely removes the individual files from the XP source. Can't install (or reinstall) what doesn't exist...

And this isn't a nlite forum? Shocking.... :D
