Electrogen'sMCEUpdatePack (Beta6)
Here is the beta to my MCE update pack for people to try out also. This only works with the new RVM Integrator 1.5RC1.
This update pack only contains update rollup 2 and after.
You still need to install .dot framework 1.1 sp1 after install.

It shouldnt matter, this update pack only contains update rollup 2 and after.
MCE specific files
oh i see what you mean now this is an update pack and only 1 update pack can be slipped at a time.
I would do this pack first then rvm's pack i will upload the addon pack for this
i noticed a couple of files that are in the update packs, are present in here.altho prety much all the mce kbs are getting old, thats why id integrate this 1st,so all the reg entries for mce would be applyed, even tho integrating an xp updatepack afterwards would overwrite files to newer versions i still wonder if things would be installed correctly.and i have a question about updates prior to rollup 2, are they all obsolete?(and is there any way of know when a hotfix superceds an other?

yes this is because in update rollup 2 there are a few other updates that contain driver files & sp2 files and a wmp update.bober101 wrote:i noticed a couple of files that are in the update packs, are present in here
I have tested it on a few occasions and all seems to be finebober101 wrote:i still wonder if things would be installed correctly.?
update rollup 1 is obsolete, there were also a few updates that were released within a couple of months of each other, they were all cumulative so they are all obselete exept the last one which was oct06bober101 wrote:and i have a question about updates prior to rollup 2, are they all obsolete??
yes on microsoft website it will usually tell you thatbober101 wrote:(and is there any way of know when a hotfix superceds an other?
"this update is cumulative and superseeds the following hotfixes" the list that it then gives you is the obselete hotfixes

The integratos expands driver.cab/sp?.cab in the beginning of integration. Then addons can use filecopy/filemove sections to move into it before it is recompressed in the end.bober101 wrote:does the new integrator decompress the driver & sp2.cab as if it were an update packs for normal addon packs?

So the answer is yes the latest integrator has many new features to make this possible.

ok thx siginet, and i know this might be offtopic but, does the integrator still need 8.3 file name compliancy?
*ok so after doing some testing ive found that, integrating onepeices addon dosent work and boogey's wmp 11 slipstreamer also fails in the installation.also, several addons seem to not get installed.
ive tested this like so:
1st try:integrated along side ryan's new beta updatepack with other addons .results=ms oobe fails and issues mentioned above.
2nd try:integrated mce ru2 b2 1st with no addons or update packs, then ran boogey's wmp slip. and lastly integrated ryan's new beta updatepack with other addons.results=oobe works, but issues mentioned at "*" still occure.
when not integrating the mce ru2 b2 evrythings works.(i used silent installs to get my mce ru2 hotfixes installed and it works fine)
so maybe theres still kinks to hammer out from this addon.

There never was a restriction with the integrator either. It isn't a restriction it is a warning. Basically if you do not follow the 8.3 file naming structures certain ways of installing will fail As long as you boot to the disk and install the correct way you should not have a problem. But if you were to use winnt.exe to install then you would get filecopy errors due to commandline limitations. This is a limitation of using dos to install. So for most people there is no issue. The integrator is warning you because it is telling you that the addon does not follow propper addon creating methods.
For the most part it is nothing to worry about.

Hmmm... I just tested and I think it's still not working right. A lot of my stuff didn't install properly. I have no mce either.
I integrated a bunch of addons too. I'll test again with no addons.
Maybe it would be a good idea to post exactly how you are integrating it for it to work for you? Maybe post your integrator.ini?

Weird. I've tried 3 times with no luck. The internet explorer icon is not set and none of my addons are installed. I'll try again.electrogen wrote:yes im having the same problem plus what kel mentioned, im on to it nowbober101 wrote:well everythings working ok for me, but the KB900325 still isint getting installed right.
Are you integrating them at the same time. RVMUpdatePack + MCEAddon?
Or are you intregrating them in seperate instances? I'm testing just the updatepack and ryans updatepack at the same time now. Then I'll test them in seperate instances.
