[Release] Bootvis v1.3.37.0 CPL

Postby Kelsenellenelvian » Thu Oct 20, 2005 7:21 am

Here is an addon that will place Bootvis in your control panel.

BootVis is a performance trace visualization tool for use with Windows XP systems. Customer research shows a frequently requested feature that users want from their PCs is fast system startup, whether from cold boot or when resuming from standby or hibernation.

The Windows development team at Microsoft has taken bold steps in making fast startup PCs a reality with the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.

Features:

· Boot to a useable state in a total of 30 seconds
· Resume from Hibernate (S4) in a total of 20 seconds
· Resume from Standby (S3) in a total of 5 seconds

Interesting debate on the merits of this tool over here http://www.tweakhound.com/xp/bootvis/ if anyone is interested.

Kel, have you tested this on your Win2k3 installation yet and run any benchmarks to see how it performs?

Cheers m'dears :)

Hello,
Thanks for the addon.
I had your older version of Bootvis slipstreamed into my unattended cd, and now that I see the new version is out. Is there a way to uninstall your older addon? I believe it's v1.1.37 or something...
I've tried to search everywhere on my hard drive to uninstall older version before I install newer version but couldn't find anything.. (except to delete the cpl itself). Is it ok to just run the installation file for newer version over your older addon version without removing/uninstalling first? I downloaded your updated addon for future but I don't want to reinstall the whole OS right after I got done tweaking my current.
Thanks again for the great addon, and I hope I'm not asking such an obvious question.. I'm just a bit paranoid.. trying to keep my HD/Registry clean.
