Internet Explorer 8 True Addon includes following hotfixes:
KB2467659 - An update is available for Internet Explorer: December 14, 2010
KB2598845 - A Compatibility View list update is available for Windows Internet Explorer 8: October 25, 2011
KB2632503 - FIX: Array elements in very large loops may be returned as undefined in JScript 5.8

KB2936068 - MS14-018: Description of the security update for Internet Explorer: April 8, 2014
KB2964358 - Description of the security update for Internet Explorer for systems that have security update 2929437 installed: May 1, 2014

If you need to add some reg tweaks in IE8 you must manually modify before integration the entries.ini file inside the addon

- International True/Svcpack/RoE Addon Maker: (for Windows XP and Server 2003, in every language)
http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=97019#97019
If you prefer to create your own addon in every language you like, you can use this tool. You must place only IE installer and the needed hotfixes in your own language in a temp folder. Then run the Addon Creator, enter the path of your folder and wait a few seconds/minutes (depends on your system) for the completion popup. 7-zip the resulting files.

Onepiece's addons allows you to decide if keeping or not IE Desktop Icon:
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/156/ie ... icone1.png
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1289/i ... icone2.png

Both solutions work with Nlite 1.4.9.1 or RVM 1.6.1.
IE8 addon is not needed if you integrate Onepiece's XP post-SP3 AIO Update Pack in your XP source because it's already included

IE8 integration esthetic side effects (not Addon bugs):
* setuperr.log will point out harmless error messages about some IE files like imgutil.dll, inetcpl.cpl, inseng.dll, mshtml.dll, msrating.dll, pngfilt.dll, occache.dll, webcheck.dll (caused by the patched Syssetup.dll used for integration and then restored with the original one). If you don't tolerate it you can integrate in addition Onepiece Repair IE8 cosmetic problems addon (Hash MD5 5C7AF8CA9F637C993F4AEEFFB63F39ED - Filesize: 1.28 Kb - updated 2008-03-27) which cleans the false errors. Please note that in some rare configurations the integration of this "repair" addon could cause issues, so we don't suggest to use it.

Just follow the link in first post
taking advantage of new amazing functions of Integrator 1.5 (thanks again to Siginet), you can directly integrate IE8 in your source with a simple script.
Simply copy IE8-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe into RVMi_Dir\Plugins and then you only need to list for integration the "mini-addon" (RVMi plugin) after updatepack and other addons in same Integrator session.

IE8 true addon is out: please use it carefully because all the tests result OK but it has been rebuilded from zero.

Onepiece decided to keep iedw.exe file even if it seems no more needed by IE8: if someone wants to test its removal, these entries.ini lines must be modified as follows:

Code: Select all

[ExtraFileEdits]
;IE.inf|iedw.exe,,,32|;iedw.exe,,,32|1
in
[ExtraFileEdits]
IE.inf|iedw.exe,,,32|;iedw.exe,,,32|1

and
[obsolete_files]
;iedw.exe
in
[obsolete_files]
iedw.exe

We suggest to use RVMi 1.6.1 b1 for the integration with Onepiece's XP AIO update Pack, because it removes obsolete files. And better adding IE8 in a second RVMi run than all in one shot.

Is increasing IRPStackSize necessary when IE8 is installed on a system where the addon was not applied, dpiroli3?

Hello,

Thanks for the TrueAddon Maker of IE8.
But it doesnt seem to work on my Dutch file.. Exactly the same as with the IE7 TrueAddon maker.

I have made a folder called "IE8" on my D partition.
In the folder i put:
- IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD.exe
- IE8-WindowsXP-KB968220-x86-NLD.exe
- RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE8_XP_Own_AddOn_Creator.INTL.exe

Then i double click the RUN_Automatic.
I have to locate the IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD.exe.
Since this file is in my IE8 folder, i browse to D:\IE8.
A few things are being extracted.
After that the same box popups again, tells me to locate the original installer again.
So i do that.
Then i get this:

Moderator Edit (5eraph): Image too wide (>800 px). Changed [Img] tags to [URL].
http://i41.tinypic.com/2wdarl3.png

Suddenly there is folder called "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD". And after some seconds it just dissapears again.

Then the box pops up again.
On and on, and i dont any result i want.

Also when i dont locate the folder the second time, it doesnt work either, it just crashes or something?

Moderator Edit (5eraph): Image too wide (>800 px). Changed [Img] tags to [URL].

edit:
I tried again (10th time), and i jsut pushed cancel when the third box popped up.
Now i got a file called "OnePiece_IE8_WinXPSP3_AddOn_NLD.7z" of around 11MB.

BUT,
In the ENU installer there is a SVCPACK folder inside the addon, and with my NLD there isnt one.

ENU-OnePiece:

NLD:

So i dont know.. It doesnt add the update.

Retry placing only IE8 setup file and the hotfix inside a temp folder. Then run the Addon Maker giving the temp folder path.

You should get this

Yes I am doing it that way, will show you exactly what i do.

I made a new folder called IE8-TEMP.
Placed in
- IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD.exe
- IE8-WindowsXP-KB968220-x86-NLD.exe
- RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE8_XP_Own_AddOn_Creator.INTL.exe

Like this:
Image

Then i double click on RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE8_XP_Own_AddOn_Creator.INTL.exe.
To start the process.

Then the little box pops up, and i locate the IE8-TEMP folder.
Image

After this I push OK, to start the extracting and all stuff.
While the creator was bissy, i made a screenshot:
I got the following files and folders in my working directory:
Image

Seconds later, the box popups again, asking me to locate the working directory again... (the "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD" folder was temporary, since its gone now).
Image

What should i do now?
I tried both OK and Cancel.
With OK, the whole process starts again and the temporary "IE8-WindowsXP-x86-NLD" folder popups again.
With Cancel it makes me an addon but it doesnt include the hotfix that i provided, (no SVCPACK in the addon package itself).

I pushed Cancel.
Then i get the addon:
Image

The Addon still doesnt contain the SVCPACK folder, (so now .CAT files):
Image

Could you check when you create it, if there is a SVCPACK with .CAT files in the created addon?

Can't be more specific really.

Thank you for the Dutch addon OnePiece Alb :D

I've tried your addonmaker, however I''m getting a viruswarning

AVG Free 8.5 Resident Shield
Trojan Horse SHeur2.WLV detected when opening OPUPPCINTL.exe
Procesname: c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
Proces-ID: 2456

I've downloaded both needed IE-files directly from microsoft-site.
A seperate scan of cmd.exe results in no infenction :?

Is it warning known as false?

Thanks.

Virus ?

Postby wazer » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:48 pm

When im doing the RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE8_XP_Own_AddOn_Creator.INTL.exe

When it starts, after sometime it comes up with My malwarebytes that claims that 7z.exe c:\windows\system32 is Infected with a Trojan.Agent.

It might be false, i just wanted to warn the author and the others guys here around :P Have nice day.

@pegasus & onepiece & nonno:

extract IE8 cosmetic addon, then find next line:

Code: Select all

SYSSETUP.inf|11,,occache.dll,1|;11,,occache.dll,1|1

modify it to:

Code: Select all

SYSSETUP.inf|11,,occache.dll,3|;11,,occache.dll,3|1

@yumeyao - Thanks for your help. I'll try your suggestion to modify the cosmetic addon & test it this weekend.

When I use the cosemtic addon, I get an Advanced Inf Install popup at first boot saying I need to reboot to finish installing. There is also a small box in the upper left corner of screen saying its installing personal settings for IE8 or words to that effect.

This is ONLY with the cosmetic addon, otherwise its fine.

Am I alone with this problem?

Thanks

Edit: I also notice that the reg entries are such that KB968220 is NOT showing up when I run qfecheck, though MU/WU is fine with it.

@SHO_GuN: have you used newer IE8 RCP addon?

@Kees030, Wazer, ccl0: It's a known false positive of a few AV, caused by Quick Batch File Compiler. Try on www.virustotal.com

No, I edited my copy to change the 1 to a 3 as pointed out by yumeyao.

I just downloaded the new one and ran it and all is fine :)
