Change color of Textmode setup?

Hey all,

I have checked several places to see how to do this, but have fallen short on all counts. Some places say to modify setupldr.bin others say to edit SMSS.exe in system32... there are no clear directions. Editing SMSS shows me the ugly 16bit color GUI mode screens, and setupldr.bin appears to be just a bunch of text. I understand that the color coding might be in HEX if it is contained in setupldr.bin, but have failed to find the color reference correctly. to me it appears that the blue color for text-mode is either 00 00 77 or 00 00 AA, however, replacing either results in text-mode not starting...

Has anyone been able to successfully change the color of text-mode setup?
