Filesize: 253.34 MB (265648234 bytes)

This XP post-SP3 All-in-One QFE/LDR Update Pack differs from RyanVM's/user_hidden's one as it includes by default more stuff like IE8, DX updates, all .NETs or WMP11 for an easier integration, along with official and nearly all request-only hotfixes (RyanVM's Update Pack is more selective with request-only hotfixes, which is fine): all in a few MBs and integrated in native "true" mode.

Onepiece's XP Update Pack can be used along with Nite from v1.4.9.1 and RVM Integrator from v1.6.1 b2.1 on a clean XP SP3 ENU source.

From v3.5.1 XP post-SP3 AIO UpdatePack can be integrated in a XP MCE 2005 SP3 source.

Integration side effects (not UpdatePack bugs):
  • setuperr.log will point out harmless error messages about some IE files like imgutil.dll, inetcpl.cpl, inseng.dll, mshtml.dll, msrating.dll, pngfilt.dll, occache.dll, webcheck.dll (caused by the patched Syssetup.dll used for integration and then restored with the original one). If you don't tolerate it you can integrate in addition this Onepiece Repair IE8 cosmetic problems addon
    (Hash MD5 5C7AF8CA9F637C993F4AEEFFB63F39ED - Filesize: 1.28 Kb - updated 2008-03-27) which does nothing else than cleaning those false errors in your setuperr.log file. Please note that in some rare configurations the integration of this addon could cause issues, so we don't suggest to use it.
  • There's an incompatibility of new msi installer official release KB981669 with a single app of Windows Live suite, Photogallery. Microsoft hasn't fixed it yet so if you need that specific app you must revert to very old KB967756 usingthis addon by 5eraph.
    If you don't want to loose the new version, there's also atemporary workaround for working systems that allows you to install Photogallery in an updated XP
You don't like any of the components included in OnePiece's XP Update Pack?
If you prefer a different configuration of Onepiece AIO Update Pack I suggest you to use one of the existing vanilla XP UpdatePack (you can find excellent one here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=25) with your preferred addons and you'll get your own XP disc without the need to remove anything. However:
  • you can easily uninstall some of them from Windows Components Wizard after windows setup (a clean XP SP3 source is needed). "Clean" in this case means "with neither AIO UpdatePack nor IE7-8 integrated".
    Then you can use a Run window to totally delete the components from your live system, typing this command

    Code: Select all

    rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection OPMWXPUP.inf,%Optional Components NAME%.CleanUp
    Other supported switches are HIDE (removes the component from Windows Component Wizard list) and SHOW (shows the component in Windows Component Wizard list):
    Image
  • Alternatively, you can also disable their installation listing the one you don't like to install (but not .net 2.0!) in a Winnt.sif file (see also here), under [components] section, with an "= off" by their side. For example, if you want to disable installation of Windows Desktop Search you will add this string:

    Code: Select all

    [Components]
    ...
    WDSearch = off
    ...

    All the Winnt.sif optional components codes are shown below. List only those you want to disable!

    Code: Select all

    BitLockerToGo = BitLocker To Go Reader
    BrowserChoice = Browser Choice
    DirectX       = DirectX Post-SP3 Update
    ICCDSCD       = Windows Feature Pack for Storage
    IMAPI2        = Image Mastering API
    MDX           = DirectX Managed Code
    MSXML4        = MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser (KB2721691)
    MU            = Microsoft Update
    NETFX30       = Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2
    NETFX35       = Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
    NETFX40       = Microsoft .NET Framework 4
    PowerShell    = Windows PowerShell
    PowerShellISE = Windows PowerShell ISE
    Silverlight   = Microsoft Silverlight
    WDSearch      = Windows Desktop Search
    WgaNotify     = Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications
    WinRM         = Windows Remote Management (WS-Management)
    WRMC          = Windows Rights Management Client
    XP_EOS        = Microsoft Windows XP End of Service Notification

  • Or, again, you can remove them from XP source after UpdatePack integration. Simply extract one or more of the small RVM-only addons from this suite and run a single new RVM-i integration session for every one of them on your updated source:

    NB
    *"REMOVE" addons are RVMIntegrator-only!! the entries.ini removal values are not supported by Nlite.
    **the file you download, OnePiece_Remove_AddOn_For_WinXP_UP*.cab, is the archived full suite of single addons: you must unpack it (or extract from it the addons you need) before use with RVMi.
    *** Please note also that, due to a RVMi limitation, Removal Addons could break XP setup if integrated in the source at once in the same RVMi session: you must run your regular integration with Nlite or RVMi then, before making the .iso, one or more additional sessions of RVMi to finish off your source with the desired removal addon.
    ****OnePiece_Remove_Windows_Management_Framework_Core_AddOn.cab removes from setup CD all single WinMFC component (Powershell, PowershellISE & WinRM). So if you use it, you don't need to add these single component removers:
    OnePiece_Remove_WinMFC(PowerShellv2)_AddOn.cab
    OnePiece_Remove_WinMFC(PowerShellISE)_AddOn.cab
    OnePiece_Remove_WinMFC(WinRM)_AddOn.cab
    to your integration list

    Let's recap! the right order is:
    Run RVMi and integrate Update Pack - rerun RVMi and integrate first Removal addon - rerun RVMi and integrate second Removal addon - ... - rerun RVMi and integrate last Removal addon - rerun RVMi and integrate your preferred SW - make the .iso.

You can also extract both the UpdatePack and the OnePiece_Adobe_Flash_Player_v%Version%_True_AddOn.cab, delete entries_Flash.ini file, copy/move newer Adobe Flash Player AddOn files inside UpdatePack, overwriting the older one and then archive UpdatePack again.

Made with DXUPAC! only DotNet LangPacks are not included (as they're useless) but if you want them too, integrate OnePiece_NetFxLangPack_SvcPack_AddOn_%Lang%.cab (download it from one of Onepiece's Files Repositories) after UpdatePack.

All credits are in entries.ini file: however many, many thanks especially to RyanVM, Nuhi, Siginet and Xable.

Tested this on Sun's VBox. everything seems OK. though I saw these on setuperr.log:

Code: Select all

Error:

I presume these files are concerned with IE7 and normal with integrated IE7? IE7 seem to work fine so I assume these can be ignored?

Thanks for this update pack. :wink:

Perfect! No issues.

Well almost perfect, :D it would be great to have Microsoft Update in addition to the latest windows update - was that deliberately excluded or something looked over?

I agree with Fragbert. I haven't tried it yet but Microsoft Update would be preferable. Please? :)

Thanks OnePiece/NF.

Works great here - I echo the Microsoft Update instead of Windows Update comments.

I do have one thing I would like to ask others about.... no matter what I do, the video highlights on msn.com will NOT play on either of my 3 computers with SP3 installed. From clean manual install straight from a XPSP3 CD to RVM'd or nLited - no video on msn.com.

That was until I tested this pack ... msn video works with SP3 and this pack installed!

So what I wish to know is if A: Am I the only one with this issue? B: If not, anyone know what this pack does to fix this problem?

Typical Microsoft with an earlier numbered hotfix with a higher version file with a file date of 5/30/2008 than a later numbered hotfix with a lower version of the same file although it's dated 6/10/2008.

QFE check shows all is OK, but Microsoft Update is still NOT installed.

I just dug up an old stand alone MU addon, updated it and ran it after this update pack and MU worked like its supposed to.

The following files seem to be missing, and probably some registry entries:

DataStor.edb
mucltui.dll
mucltui.mui

The following registry entry is also needed when using IE7 to keep from having to click an activeX download box on first visit to MU. Beings IE7 is included in this pack, it seems fitting to add this to the pack too:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{6E32070A-766D-4EE6-879C-DC1FA91D2FC3}\iexplore]

Would you mind sharing this updated MU addon until this issue is fixed? Latest one I have is xable's and it's about 2 versions behind.

Sorry, I didn't even bother to save it.

The pack I updated is here: Link

The pack I took the updated files from is here: Link

@nonno: Sorry to have even brought this up.... I overlooked the part of your original post that says "Please don't ask for inclusions or exclusions". :oops:

That said, if this update pack is NOT going to be designed to make MU work straight off, the MU files may as well be left out leaving only the WU files.

thanks for pointing that out, SHO_GuN. I misunderstood it was a missing link problem but actually we have lose those files in translation...
Consider it as fixed in next release.

@Fragbert: don't worry, mate; Onepiece's pack is designed to have both MU and WU working links (at least, they work in the italian pack) you have the right to ask for them

mmm, we got no missing *.mof files errors... Could you try only with UpdatePack, without other addons, with Integrator on a clean XP source?

That was the first thing I did. MU does not get installed - or at least I must go through the intall process on windowsupdate to get MU as the default.

Oh - wait haha if you are talking about the other issue, yes I get the same errors. To date, not a single addon, slipstreamer, or other hack has defeated this SP3 bug other than disabling SFC in nLite for me.

I'm not worried about MU but wbemoc.inf issue is fixed (at least at 99,9% of cases, considering your experience...;) ) by default in all Onepiece works since its first appearance and seems strange to me seeing it again

With this addon alone, I dont get a wbemoc.inf error at setup, but I get the typical screwed up desktop at first boot where IE icon is missing, I get framedyn.dll error popups and similar.

I know I'm not the only one who never had the wbemoc, but got the IE icon/desktop error. It may be because I use XP volume corporate version. If you have access to the MSDN release of XP VOL w/ SP3, integrate with your addon and I guarantee you will see the same error.

Are you using Nlite or Integrator? Usually framedyn.dll errors mean failed integration...

I use integrator 1.5.3 for your addon. I only use nlite if I get the problem and then only use nlite to disable SFC (which fixes it).

I know your all going to roll your eyes at this one... But I would love it if WGA was removed from this pack!

yes, we have discussed about it in our italian forum.
This pack is intended to be "zero WU" and Microsoft Update calls for WGA engine download. Sorry but this is Onepiece's final choice about WGA

Thanks for the reply nonno fabio.

I understand. Could it be possible to manually remove the WGA component of this wonderful update pack?

- decompress Update Pack;

- delete these lines from entries.ini file:

Code: Select all

[dosnet_files]
...
d1,lgtckctl.dll
d1,wgalogon.dll
d1,wgatray.exe
...
[txtsetup_files]
...
lgtckctl.dll = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0,LegitCheckControl.dll
wgalogon.dll = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0,WgaLogon.dll
wgatray.exe  = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0,WgaTray.exe
...
[i386_compress]
...
rvmtemp\extracted\lgtckctl.dll
rvmtemp\extracted\wgalogon.dll
rvmtemp\extracted\wgatray.exe

- then delete from pack these files:

Code: Select all

lgtckctl.dll
wgalogon.dll
wgatray.exe

- then delete KB905474.AddReg in OPMWXPUP.inf file;

- compress Update Pack as it was.

but i think he also need to del the registerdll enteries too...so delete all refereces to KB905474.AddReg and WgaNotify.RegSvr in these 2 sections:
[DefaultInstall]
AddReg =KB905474.AddReg,
RegisterDlls =WgaNotify.RegSvr,

[OnePiece UpdatePack]
AddReg =KB905474.AddReg,
RegisterDlls =WgaNotify.RegSvr,

also optionaly you can delete the whole add.reg and RegSvr sections further down in the inf;
[KB905474.AddReg]

[WgaNotify.RegSvr]

Bober101 is right (thanks): if you delete WGA files, there will be no problem with RegisterDll but it's better to delete those entries too.

A new release of Onepiece's UpdatePack, with MU fix and some new patches is expected within next Friday

Thanks guys!

For everyone's info: OnePiece_Repair_IE_Cosmetic_Problems_AddO.7z located at Link takes care of this.

I guess I can say that is a good beginning for this update pack if the most serious problems are IE7-related setuperr.log claims and not-automatically-working Microsoft Update... :D

Onepiece has got a MSDN release of XP ENU, integrated Onepiece XP UP with RVM Integrator and installed: no kind of errors... I don't know what to say :?

P.S. new release: see changelog

OK, this begs the question:
What's the difference between the MSDN SP3 file and the standard M$ SP3 download here?

The only other difference would be the integration method of both SP3 and this update pack.
/integrate, or RVMI, or nLite?

I integrate SP3 and this update pack with nLite. I haven't tried RVMI yet.
