[Release] Onepiece WMP11 w/upd. XP True Addon FINAL

Postby nonno fabio » Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:46 pm

As an alternative to excellent Boooggy's WMP11 Slipstreamer, now it is possible to use three additional ways to integrate WMP 11 in your XP source, using Nlite or RVM Integrator.

Choose your preferred one:

- 1st method (Nlite/RVMi) - "True" Addon:

- 2nd method (RVMi only) - RVM Integrator Script:

- 3rd method (Nlite/RVMi) - Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator:

How do they work?
True Addon is a classic addon that you can use along with your favorite addons with Nlite/RVMi. "True" means that it is integrated as default in XP totally replacing older WMP9 in your source.
Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator allows you to build a localized True Addon by yourself: run it in a folder with WMP11 setup file and all WMP11 hotfixes in you own language and you'll get your personal True addon to place in Nlite/RVMi integration list.
RVMi script is a safer way to integrate WMP 11 than a True addon but it's a little more complicated. It's a RVMi Plugin, so obviously it works with RVMi but not with Nlite.
If you choose RVMi script, simply follow the image: you must add RVMi script.7z link along with your favorite addons in "choose addon pack(s)" section of RVMi GUI and place WMP11 setup file and all the WMP11 hotfixes in Plugins directory of RVMi program (see image).

True addon includes latest Windows Media Player 11 full version (11.0.5721.5262 released 2010-06-22) and following hotfixes:
kb954155
KB970159*
kb973540
kb974905
kb975558
kb978695
kb2834904-v2
KB3033890
KB3067903
If you choose to use RVMi script or Addon Creator, you need to download also wmp11.exe setup file and listed hotfixes.

*needs Beta version of DX Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator: you can find it in Voidseesaw's Onepiece Repository

You're right! take a look in our site and see...I've done the terrible mistake to accept to help him posting in Ryan's Forum and now can't get enough time to do anything else... :D

Cool! A WMP11 add-on! I was getting tired of using the ancient add-on by Boooggy. His integrator produces some interesting problems with an optimized DVD that the add-on doesn't (namely the DVD is much larger than integrating an add-on).

This is great OnePiece! I agree... you never stop. :P You have been coming up with some excelent UpdatePacks/Addons. Thx! :D

Could I make a small request?

I was thinking it might be cleaner to have users download the WMP11 hotfixes into a WMP11 folder inside of the Plugins folder instead of having them all downloaded to the root of the Plugins folder. ;) Might be a good idea for your IE7 addon script as well. ;)

I think I will also create a method to make the integrator automatically download the files for the users as well by reading the entries file and getting the download links from it. :) Which would definatly come in handy. :D

Thx again OnePiece... and thanks to Nonno Fabio as well for helping translate for us! :D

Oooh Sig...fantastic idea!!! Why not cache (similar to Driver.Cab) the downloads to prevent unnecessary bandwidth ...And, of course, md5 checking. ;)

@Siginet:

Onepiece has tried some times ago:

Code: Select all

[FileCopy]
;English
@Plugins\WMP11\wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe,rvmtemp\

@Plugins\WMP11\windowsmedia11-%KB17%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\windowsmedia11-%KB18%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\windowsmedia11-%KB19%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\windowsmedia11-%KB20%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\windowsmedia11-%KB21%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\

@Plugins\WMP11\WindowsXP-%KB22%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\WindowsXP-%KB23%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\WindowsXP-%KB24%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\WindowsXP-%KB25%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\WindowsXP-%KB26%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\
@Plugins\WMP11\WindowsXP-%KB27%-x86-ENU.exe,rvmtemp\

then created WMP11 folder but it didn't work. Is there something wrong?

About your new method, it seems fantastic: Some kind of APUP? Onepiece says that if you like you can use his scripts: he creates them by himself because he saw you are busy but they are yours ;)

Hmmm... Ok... here is what I find when I try to use the RVMi script. It seems like it is almost working.

It ends up extracting all of the needed files and making a folder "rvmtemp\WMP11_ADDON". It places all of the files in this folder. But... that folders contents is never added to I386. :(

I did try changing the entries file with the changes you posted in the previous reply and it does seem to work for me. But it still does not move the WMP11_ADDON files to I386.

I would definatly love to see the code to OPWMP11ACINTL.exe. Allthough it is Allways OnePieces code. :) I'd love to help with it to make it work much easier as a plugin with the ideas I posted previously. :)

@orcoxp The integrator will check the MD5Hash of downloaded files before downloading new files To prevent improper use of bandwidth. ;)

I don't understand what's going on in the screenshot in the first post.

To integrate this using RVM Integrator, am I suppose to download all post WMP 11 hotfixes plus the WMP 11 installer place them in the "Plugins" dir created when opening RVM Integrator and then add "OnePiece_WMP11AddOn_INTL_For_WinXP_Only_for_RVMi.7z" to "Choose AddonPack(s)"?

If this is so, I gather the same method is required for IE7 if I am using RVM Integrator?

Yes, you're right. Use of scripts like those is a new feature of Integrator 1.5 and it's probably the best way to integrate WMP11 or IE7 for Integrator users.

Addon Maker is slightly different: you must place WMP11 Installer, all WMP11 hotfixes plus Addon Maker in a same directory, then run the Addon maker .exe file and in a few seconds you will get your personal addon to use with Nlite or Integrator.

Unlike true addon, both of them can be used also with localized .exes

hello, i was just wondering if there was a way to possibly integrate custom wmp skins with the addon maker? for example i'd like to somehow add this one http://jnco-01.deviantart.com/art/iMac- ... P-36813308

and have it set to default

Crazy thing if I include wmp11 updates in my source using this update or wmp11 slipstreamer my desktop icons dont show up

clean sp3 source
adobe 9 addon
ie7 addon
firefox addon
spybot 1.6 addon
spywareblaster addon
firefox addon
rvm beta sp3 update pack

I know its not one of the listed addons because if I dont include wmp11 updates all of my desktop icons are there,I also have tried onepiece update pack that includes everything,samething happens,its not a huge deal I can go to all programs and make the icons, just dont understand why wmp11 updates would effect desktop icons,also if I just include wmp11 alone the icon are there on bootup,I have narrowed it down to the wmp11 updates.

I want to make it clear first that this addon is not "WMP11 Updates" but "full WMP11 updated".

Let me understand: If you add to your clean XP source (with RVMi or Nlite) ONLY WMP11 true addon (or add WMP11 installer and its updates with WMP11 Slipstreamer) with nothing else, don't you see the default desktop icons?

Sorry about the mix up yes,if I do a clean integration with ryan or nlite using nothing but my addons no wp11 updates just sliptream wmp11 I get the ie7 desktop icon,the spybot,the adobe,the firefox,and the spyware blaster icon,but if I use the wmp11 sliptreamer 1.3.4.2 to intergrate the updates when pc boots up no icons or if I use this addon pack or onepiece update pack this occurs also,so I am thinking it has something to do with wmp11 updates crazy I know,but I have tried with and with out many times with updates no icons without updates icons,like I said crazy I know but this addon and the onepiece update pack are very nice love them both,just thought this was weird I load a pc last night just went to all programs and sent icons to desktop

ryans update pack sp3 beta or onepiece update pack
adobe 9 addon
firefox addon
spyware blaster addon
spybot addon
oem scan addon
java 6.7 addon
net fix addon
nr ie7 2.0.1 addon(if i am not using onepiece pack)
open office 2.4.1 addon
xable wgan(if i am not using onepiece pack)
silverlight addon(if i am not using onepiece pack)
wmp11 1.3.4.2 slipstreamer(if i am not using onepiece pack)
june direct x9 addon(if i am not using onepiece pack)

I have tried by leaving out each addon one at a time took me a week to do this,icons always there but if I add wmp11 updates no icons

we have no ideas: WMP is not IE7, its integration don't touch anything, only some more reglines in .inf.

it seems odd that the cause is WMP11. However have you tried to ask the same question in Boooggy's forum? Perhaps they've already seen your issue in the past...

Yes I have the recycle bin icon,last night I tried this with no wmp11 stuff at all and just used ryans beta sp3 and my normal addons listed above all the icons for the addons where on the desk top,then I tried with just wmp11,loaded icons there,then I tried with wmp11 and updates no icons only the recycle bin ,I go to start all programs and just send short cut to desk top if I use the wmp11 and updates method.

May I know why the "RVM Integrator Script" for? Is it a must for RVM Integrator?
If the Integrator Script is required, am I suppose to just include both the "True" addon and the Integrator Script?

Out topic (but related)
I have a MSDN Windows XP SP3, would like to integrate myself:-
RVM Post-SP3 Update Pack 1.0.0a
Others Addon:
RVM Addon Pack 1.9.0
OnePiece_IE7_WinXPSP3_v2.3.0_AddOn_ENU
OnePiece_Repair_IE_Cosmetic_Problems_AddOn (I don't know if this should be included like this @.@")
OnePiece_Windows_Media_Player_11_True_AddOn_v1.1.0_ENU
OnePiece_WMP11AddOn_INTL_For_WinXP_Only_for_RVMi (Is this needed o.@")

Question is, should this work?
Should the arrangement of the Addons matters? IE before WMP11??
Regarding the Addon packs that I comment in bracket, should that be included as it's??

I thought it would be easier for me to stick on a topic rather than go different topics for few other questions @.@"

RVMi script and True addon are alternative ways to integrate WMP 11 in your source: you must use only one of them. RVMi script is a safer way to integrate but it's a little more complicated than True Addon.
If you want to use RVMi script, simply follow the image: you must add RVMi script.7z link with others in "choose addon pack(s)" section of RVMi GUI and place WMP11 setup file and all the WMP11 hotfixes you find in the image attached to first post (change KB944110 with KB950478) in Plugins directory of RVMi program.
If you prefer True addon, add its link in "choose addon pack(s)" section of RVMi GUI and nothing else.

OnePiece_Repair_IE_Cosmetic_Problems_AddOn is not needed: its purpose is only to keep clean setuperr.log file.

IMHO the order doens't matter

Thanks for the info, but I had tried more than twice of the RVMi script with no luck, it came out with errors that some files are unable to copy (audiodev.dll... etc.)
Here's how I did the RVMi
i386: Windows XP Professional - Corporate SP3 (that's how RVMi detect it)
Update pack: RVM Post-SP3 Update Pack 1.0.0a
Addon pack: OnePiece_WMP11AddOn_INTL_For_WinXP_Only_for_RVMi
I put all the required files (WMP installer, kb******) into the RVM Integrator Plugins folder (so I guess I'm right?)
I also enable Optimize System Files.
RVM Integrator finished without any error.

I did the installation test using VirtualBox, 5GB reserved space (enough? I'm kinda lack of space at this machine), built ISO using MagicISO 5.5 (build 272) with boot file saved from the MSDN original ISO.
I run the boot without any problem, so it couldn't be the problem of the MagicISO, could it?

The error present after the harddisk format, when it copying half-way through, I though I messed up with the ISO, the ISO seems to be smaller from the original. Can someone tell me where did I do wrong?

we've retested the RVMi plugin with RVMi 1.5.4 beta (see updated image) but we got no errors at all.

It seems a failed integration: you should retry

I haven't tested it recently... but I got pretty much the same problems when I tried to use it a while back. It looked as if it was building the addon but never actually integrating it into the i386 files.

Using the True addon, integrated fine but I get prompted to install the lastest update.exe files by Microsoft Update...while the same packs and excluding WMP does not.

The files in the update are 6.1.x and the WMP is 6.3.x ...wadup?

Afetr WMP11 addon integration, spupdsvc.exe in \PreInstall\WinSE\wxp_x86_0409_v1 should be v6.3.13.0: is it so?

Hi OnePiece,

Thanks a lot for this AddOn. I'm gonna make a french one based one yours, if you don't mind ;)
By the way, does this version include MTP fix as in your Post-SP3 UpdatePack ?
fixed mp3 MTP device driver issue submitted by some users

@Kal and ericlai: The WMP11 addons have not been updated yet.

Newer ones will include MTP device fix and compatibility with KB954154

Ok thanks. What do you mean by compatibility with KB954154? Do you mean you will include this addon?

Anyway, I made my own WMP11 addon based on OnePiece UpdatePack AIO 1.6.0. Here the are the weird things I have found :

wmfsdk.inf
You forgot these entries in [DelReg.Uninst], which come with update.inf of wmfdist11.exe:

Code: Select all

;
;--delete reg keys specific to the DRM
;
HKCR, "Software\Microsoft\Multimedia\Components\Installed\DRM_DRM\Uninstall"

You forgot these entries in [Reg.Codecs], which come with default wmfsdk.inf found in SP3 XP disk:

Code: Select all

HKCR, "Windows Media\%REGKEY_WMSDK%\VideoEncode", "MP4S",,""
HKCR, "Windows Media\%REGKEY_WMSDK%\VideoEncode", "MSS1",,""

Typo mistake in [DelReg.Uninst] :

Code: Select all

HKCR, Windows Media\WMSDK\AudioDecode\352
HKCR, Windows Media\WMSDK\AudioDecode\353
HKCR, Windows Media\WMSDK\VideoDecode\MSS1

;;;;;;;;
; SHOULD BE
;;;;;;;;
HKCR,"Windows Media\WMSDK\AudioDecode\352"
HKCR,"Windows Media\WMSDK\AudioDecode\353"
HKCR,"Windows Media\WMSDK\VideoDecode\MSS1"

You don't execute this process, which come with update.inf of wmfdist11.exe:

Code: Select all

"%systemroot%\system32\rundll32.exe %systemroot%\system32\wpd_ci.dll,DoCmd remove rescan"

Anyway, I don't know what does it stand for.

wmp.inf
You never call HideReg.WMP10.Qfe

this key:

Code: Select all

HKLM,"%KEY_WMP%\11.0\Registration", "UDBRev",,"%VERSION%"

should be :

Code: Select all

HKLM,"%KEY_WMP%\11.0\Registration", "UDBVersion",,"%VERSION%"

That's all, thanks for the good work ;)

just make it like boogy addon in the old days...
intergrate.. setup and use directly...
this is because i dun want media 11 to take over my media that is assoc by mpc in my installation...

i also found out i need to insert this reg to avoid the setup popup...
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences]
"AcceptedPrivacyStatement"=dword:00000001

HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x10001,01,00,00,00

but i failure to insert it in the inf... please guide where to insert extra inf registry

cyberlone :

Open wmp.inf file included in this addon, and add your tweaks in [WMPAddReg.PUI] sections.

Yeah I just finished my WMP11 AddOn based on OnePiece, but it's for French only. Anyway, it should work, be sure your tweaks are correct.

seems WMP11 doesn't need those lines: they aren't written by WMP11 installer but only with older WMPs

Yes, they are strange but it's Microsoft itself which writes them in that way. If you check Wmfsdk.inf from Windows XP MCE where WMP10 is present as default, you'll see they are exactly like that

Code: Select all

"%systemroot%\system32\rundll32.exe %systemroot%\system32\wpd_ci.dll,DoCmd remove rescan"

Thanks for your check-up!

After that reply, WMP11 RVMi plugin is changed: Now it's no more universal; it doesn't search anymore for a svcpack.inf file and now OPWMP11ACINTL.exe searches for WMP11 setup files in a WMP11 folder and not directly in rvmtemp folder.

Pardon me to ask, but didn't there used to be some kind of svcpack-addon maker for this program in this thread? I was wondering if one could be made still?

If not, then would it at least help to know what switches should be used with WMP11.exe and each of its hotfixes if I have resort to calling them seperately in svcpack, pretty please? Thanks.

Thanks for updating. Could I know which file needed to be modified to fix MTP device support ? I saw you have modified 3 inf files, but I don't know which one fix it. My WMP11 addon is based on OnePiece updatePack 1.6.0 and has a bug with MTP device :(

Edit:oops it's ok i found the answer in this thread ;)

Does the true Add-On work on "RVMi v1.5.3"? or do I need "RVMi v1.5.4 [B6]" to integrate it?

BTW, I'm integrating it to SP2.....

It is ok to integrate with 1.5.3 or newer of the integrator.
