[Release] Luna Element 4.2a

Post by Kelsenellenelvian » Tue Nov 01, 2005 10:49 pm

It was requested for a Luna Element 4 addon pack so here it is.

Download here ----> http://www.wpiw.net/downloads/Kels_Luna ... _v4.2a.cab

Size - 843kb MD5 Hash = 46A2C46B5BC986B0481DEDF61FCED40E

I got this theme from here = http://www.deviantart.com/view/22429128/

The newest version only has 8 shellstyles in it! As for those who say there are more give me the link. I think the newest one is the one to use though.

Good work kel ;)
Donate to Kelsenellenelvian

Any donations will be appreciated and ensure I don't grow tired of building these things.
:lol: i kind of saw that coming... what with the way you were going on :P

You know there are other ppl around that will make these, all you have to do is stop saying you will make them and other ppl will.

Then you won`t have to moan about how long it takes and threaten to stop making them if you get no donations.

Kelsenellenelvian wrote:(The reason for reshacking them is all of the themes I have done so far the makers have change the version info and it will not work that way. So I have to change the version info on each file so it reads as an "Official" file.)
Would it be possible to find out exactly what one has to change, and what to change it to in order to make it read as an "official" file?

I ask, as I have some favourite themes, and I'd like to make packs for them myself (thereby saving you the effort Kel).

If I can get them to work properly, I'll also be willing to upload the packs I make for others to use.

Look man i`m not having a go, simply pointing out that at the end of the day you make the decision to do the packs, you have a choice. and so asking for donations for the work you choose to do IMHO is wrong. Knowone`s twisting your arm.
Anyway i`m not saying any more on this your work is appreciated, just relex a bit more and allow other people to do the work if you don`t have time.

btw the problems your having with the theme files is because the maker didin`t correct the checksums, there`s no need to reshack them just use modifype... takes 2 seconds ;)

Peace :D

I use jcarle's compression bin for all of my files and it does modify the checksum. I am telling you some of the themes still won't work without the reshacknig.

Ok i`ll take your word for it but would you explain exactly what you have to do, and why, also what happens if you don`t. I`m having a hard time understanding and want to learn.

Also there are 12 shellstyle.dll in this theme and you only include 8. I`m currious why.

I downloaded the installer directly from Deviant, and the authors page states 4 styles......where are 8 and 12 coming from????

2 Normals (Blue Regular, Blue Compact)
2 Black (Black Normal, Black Compact)

I could see 8, as there is an Alt Start Button version which provides a different Start graphic, but.....there is still _technically_ 4 styles if one is refering to "Color Scheme" as a style.

There are 12 shellstyle.dll for what reason i don`t know i`m no theme expert.

Kel, i`m still waiting for you to explain why you have to reshack the themes to get them to work... what happened can`t you be bothered, did you forget? or are you just full of shit? :rolleyes:

Forgot sorry in the shellstyle file when you open them with reshacker and open the version section alot of these have been changed by the person who created the theme. Now for some reason if this info in that section does not match the info in the official shellstyles it will refuse to copy it.

What I do to fix it is open one of the Luna shellstyles and copy the version info into clipboard and then open the custom theme shellstyles and replace the version info with exactly the same info in the official .dlls. I have had to do this with a couple of the msstyles files also.

Is that clear enough?

Also will relook at this theme and rebuild it., Thanks.

That`s cristal kel, and truly idiot proof. I`m sure future theme addon makers will find that info usefull also.

The maker must of had a bad installer up at one point cuz it was 12, just downloaded again and it`s 8! Look
http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=element4tu.jpg
the OLD folder is what was getting installed before, 12 styles and with differant folder names as the current installer.

Hello Kel,

I just observed an inconsistency in your entries.ini for this addon. I don't know if this will contistute an error or will make a difference in the installation. But still i'm highlighting this for you to know. Here it is,

;This section contains entries that need to go into the [WinntDirectories] section of txtsetup.sif

Xable...LE3 was 12 shellstyles...that's what you're thinking about.

Look at the buttons in the top right corner...LE3 is square...LE4 is like Vista

You made an error typing

Code: Select all

918 = Resources\Themes\LE4\Shell\DefualtC
923 = Resources\Themes\LE4a\Shell\DefualtC
it should be

Code: Select all

918 = Resources\Themes\LE4\Shell\DefaultC
923 = Resources\Themes\LE4a\Shell\DefaultC
Can you use this as a wallpaper it goes really well with the theme

kel just a question, do you need to integrate the hacked uxtheme.dll file to use your theme packs, i ask because i tried to make windows load mine without using it and failed, do you know if there is a way for themes to be applied without using a cracked file.

What about if i use nLite's own Uxtheme hack, which is available as an option during nLite operation, do i still need to use the included Uxtheme from your theme addons?

Thanks for your work and support, as usual :)
