@yumeyao
v341 won't play mp3 files. error- "can't play, burn, rip or sync because a required audio codec is not installed on your computer". When I use OPiece wmp-11 addon the files play.

Clean source xpsp3 vol_en ; latest rvmi; UH 139 update pack, wmp-11 addon. Used VM and live install. results the same as listed above.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\drivers.desc]
"msacm.l3acm"="Fraunhofer MPEG Audio Layer-3 Codec"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32]
"msacm.l3acm"="l3codecp.acm"

To fix this issue in live, save the text above to *.reg, and add it to your registry.

An updated version will be released soon.
Thanks for pointing it out. I was too careless.
---------------- EDIT --------------------
An updated version is also released.

normaly it is only one timer, but the site does not like download managers
and gives that error
after a page refresh or reaccess it obviously shows that timer again

even bigger time to wait... to bypass, change the IP and use "delete browsing history" with all the options ticked
how greedy those uploading sites :)

and of course uninstall IDM temporary 8) , when reinstalling it recollects all paths without errors or file loss

filesonic is shocking, they have no right to exist....

I don't use download managers it just doesn't function.... 10 min to get it to a point where it will pretend to give me a download so far 15 mins pretending it will actually start.

mediafire I have always found to be by far the best and always works perfectly

Hey yumeyao I notice you dont include the files that go in "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Connect 2", can you tell me why and what do they do?

Are they used for uninstall or something?

Edit: Yep never noticed, uninstall stuff...I will remove them from my pack

Hi yumeyao

I noticed in your addon that you have an inf file in the pro folder to install skins, can you please advise me on how to install additional skins to your excellent addon.

Thanks.

Nevermind! I found a way to add the skins i wanted, i simply changed the references from revert.wmz in the wmp.inf and the wmp.ini files to the Xbox.wmz skin and XboxLive.wmz skin.

Thanks anyway.

This addon is still up to date. Microsoft has shifted its focus to WMP12, which I believe is for Win7 only.

Ricktendo64 took over yumeyao's most addons, but WMP11 didn't get an update until now.

It would be nice if Ricktendo would maintain this addon too, with removed 2k3 (and maybe MCE) compatibility, just like the IE8 addon.

Windows Media Player 11
For Windows XP/MCE/2k3, Last Updated 2013/9/11

Description:
This addon will replace your Windows Media Player Component in your windows installation CD with its contents.

Why your first release is V3? Check this post.

Why do you release another WMP11 Addon as boooggy and onepiece both do good job?
I have worked on an addon including Windows Media Player 10 and Windows Media 11 Runtimes, therefore i only need to modify a few to create this addon.
This addon has all the features listed below:
    1. Compatibility with XP/MCE/2k3 in one Addon. for 2k3, M$ does not install skins but this addon does.
    2. Obsolete files are removed. They are either utility to migrate DRM stuffs or a file with several KiloBytes which is used to overwrite the old file.
    3. Addon structure: File Copy and Registry handling are system-like.
    4. A working MTP on Windows 2003, both their WMP Integration solution can't offer this.
Contents:
Credits:
Download:
Notes:
  • On a Windows XP SP2/MCE2005 source, KB908536 and KB894871 or any hotfixes that supersede them are required. Make sure you have proper UpdatePack/Hotfixes integrated.
  • Integrate this addon on a source without any other people's WMP addon.
  • Known Issues:
    • On Windows 2003, MTP driver is not signed, so that you should follow the wizard and click on "next" to install driver for your MTP devices.
Changelog:
  • Version 3.4.7 - 2013/09/11
    Updated KB2834904-v2.
  • Version 3.4.6 - 2013/07/10
    Added KB2834904, replaces KB973442.

  • Version 3.1.1 - 2009/03/25
Added KB943604, which contains updated files of KB911564, KB925398 and KB954600.
Fixed an error I created during maintenance that 2k3 complains about missing files, leading to installation failure.

  • Version 3.0 - 2009/02/08
    Initial release.

Is anyone still using this addon ?

I just did a new build with the last u_h UpdatePack, PosReady etc. and noticed when I ran a Microsoft Update Check there were no high priority fixes offered, but WMP11 under Software Optional was being offered. I integrated this addon with RVMi. When I went through the first time setup for WMP, it would not start after the customizing screens. I got a msg about WMP is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.

I don't know if it was this way on previous installs. Maybe the addon is no longer compatible. Anyone?

I updated this addon two months ago, then found that none of YumeYao's WMP addons are compatible with POSReady updates. May revisit them at some point to determine exactly which updates cause the issue, but I don't know when.

That's a shame, I restored an earlier version from March and that was ok. So, it's probably an update since then. I will restore the last image I did before doing the new build which is based on 03+all Posready updates that were done via WU from 03->07 and see if the problem exists there.

I also ran Rick's WMP11 repack after I noticed the problem and that fixed it, but I think it is missing updatess because MU offered me 2 fixes after I installed the repack.

I haven't noticed anything with the IE8 addon. what appears to be the problem there?

Okay, I restored the last image (u_h 20150310 + 20150313_5er) with all updates thru July via WU and WMP goes through the customizing and opens without problems. Looks like WU doesn't break yumeyao's addons. If I can do anything to narrow down the problem., let me know. I can do each pack and addon that came after March to see when WMP breaks if you want.

I think I may have found the cause for the yumeyao addons for WMP and IE not working correctly. If using RVMi to integrate the addons, it is very important that the addons are processed after the PosReady Addon. I had a similar problem with the IE addon a while back that required IE to be my last addon after POSReady.

My WMP problem was caused by the same situation. I edited the integrator.ini and moved the WMP just before the IE addon and that solved the problem. The culprit was wmp.dll (WMP9 KB3033890) which ended up replacing the V11 dll when WMP was integrated in the wrong order.

The WMP11 addon currently doesn't include KB3033890, but it can be run afterwards to make WMP current .

5eraph can you make the WMP update you made 2 months ago available so I can test it? I assume the update was for KB3033890, right?

5eraph, what 7za parameters do you use to create your .7z addons?

I'm trying my luck and trying to add KB3067903 and noticed the .7z I created is much larger than yours.
