[RELEASE]-InspiratSE Theme Transfomation Addon

Post by dgelwin » Mon Nov 14, 2005 9:27 am

Merry Christmas!!!

--UPDATE--

as a gift for those who like this theme, and for users of nlite.
here is a list of updates.
-updated LClock in both version (Default theme is black NonDef is white)
-updated filenames, fully 8.3 compatible.
-NOW COMPATIBLE WITH NLITE :D
--updates only in nondefault theme are these:
--the LClock addon is white instead of black. (can be turned off using msconfig or right click properties)
--nothing is installed by default (shortcuts instead are placed in the system tools\inspiratSE folder in start menu, to activate icons, explorer buttons, logons, etc.)

Download Default theme
Here MD5=4E329EDAA43DE1272999B8D7A67CCF55
Download NonDefault theme
Here MD5=CCDE865782E97C69A93F9919670023B9

as b4 i highly recommend downloading these separate addons listed below.
--note for flushcode, read the topic if you have any problems with it.

--UPDATE, I have created another addon that goes as a beautiful complementary to my theme pack, or to any other theme pack for that matter.
info on this addon Found Here
Requested by maniaq in this Thread Here
Released in This Thread Here

--UPDATE I have just created an addon that goes as a beautifull plus with this theme pack,
this addon refreshes and rebuilds your system icons, this program is very usefull if you often swithc back and forth between windows icons and the theme icons, full details are here in the release thread.
FlushCode Thread

well testing is complete and im satisfied with how the addon has finished even though i ended up just reverting to the first version i created.

Siginet(Beta Tester, the most patient person on earth he must have tested the pack like 40 or so times for me tnx a lot siginet i really appreciate it.)

Kelsenellenelvian(Beta Tester, he also helped me to greatly improve the structure of my inf's ;) tnx again kel)

RyanVM(Helped with the syntax for RunonceEX, and explaining sysoc to me. :D)

Xable(Beta Tester)

FlyingGleek(Beta Tester)

tbone2(Beta Tester)

features:
1.- longhorn clock, if you previously downloaded my lclock addon this brings it included, you will have no problems whatsoever installing both this addon and lclock addon together, (ive found a way of making sure none of my addons break each other).-- allthough since lclock is included there is no need to install both addons.

2.- I have added shortcuts to the startmenu in a folder called Accesories\system tools\inspiratse\
these shortcuts are for reverting back and forth between system icons and system logon.

3.- I have included two version of the msstlye hex edited so that both appear at once in appearance tab, one normal startmenu(Default), and the other is a compact startmenu (siginet enjoy).

4.- Custom Cursor Theme, the XZ-B-ONE theme has been conviniently created for you in your mouse\pointer options in case you would like to use this cursor pack with your own custom theme

5.- Custom Logon Screen, replaces windows default (reversible using shorcuts created by theme).

6.- Custom ExplorerBar longhornish buttons (somehow like the one in the info on theme, but not exactly because those use a sharware program and i wanted no problems with having to include shareware in my addon)

7.- Custom System Icons which replace the default windows icons.

8.- (IMPORTANT!!) I should have put this first but oh well, im releasing this addon in two flavors.
a).- Complete which takes over as windows default theme from the very first boot, and all other users created afterwards aquire this as default theme.
b).- NonDef, which is the non default version of the theme which Siginet has suggested, ( for people who have there own custom theme defined in winnt.sif)-- note this is also complete just that it doesnt take over as default.

Downloads:

--note this theme is also complete i just didnt know how to name it.

--note you could install both these addons together but i dont se why you would want to because the default one will be used.

ENJOY!

Has Anyone installed it yet? I worked so hard and no one has made any comments yet :(.
if you have installed it i would love to hear some feedback answers perhaps to these questions.

Do you like the addon?
Has it given you any trouble?
Did it install to your satisfaction and did it install correctly?
does it have any bugs i overloked?

and most important do you have any suggestions to make it better?

not compatible with nlite sorry, nlites editfile code has a glitch that would not allow me to port it to nlite, its also the same reason why dale could not port the .net 2.0 installer to nlite.

dgelwin, I installed this theme pack along with about 50 or 60 other packs that I am normally installing and it seems to have broken the right click menu choices. Is this possible?

Or, more likely, it is a conflict between one or more other packs?

What I see of the theme though, I like, I like it a lot. Especially the pointers.

I'll be doing more re-installs and hope to track this down.

what your error is, is a conflict with another theme pack, i tried my best so that it would not conflict but there are so many theme packs.

this error is caused by one of the other theme packs shellstyle overwriting the default shellstyle.dll for my pack.
try see if you can figure out witch pack it conflicts with and let me know so i can fix it.

--EDIT, well ive tested purposely installing several theme packs and making several conflict with mine and i cannot reproduce your error FlyingGleek so it leaves me to suspect that another type of addon or maybe a sysoc error in someones addon is the cause of your problem.

--note if a sysoc error occurs you can tell easily if you have kel's ubber pack integrated because when there is a sysoc error none of his shortcuts gets created in startmenu. (i know this because when testing i caused this error several times, with bad inf files, but kel helped me to fix it)

@ dgelwin, you're right it's not your addon that's causing these errors...

hmmm.... I'm doing a re-install again to see if I can track which addon is causing all this grief!

sorry to think that it was your theme pack that caused it (it just happened to be the last one I added).

I'll keep you posted on any breakthroughs I might have.

@ Kelsenellenelvian, if you're asking me, I'm installing all the theme packs available in RyanVM's forum.

to replace logon screen all you have to do is rename the logonscreen you have to logonuiX.exe, modifype it makecab it place it in the i386 directory and voila your own screen :D.

side note if you wish to revert to orginal windows logon the shortcut to do so is created in Accesories\system tools\inspiratse in the startmenu

@kel im changing the name NormalColor.dll right now, i claim the name bigadyboo :D

@avneet25 i didnt post a direct link to file in this forum, all i did was link to the release forum of taskSwitch, that way if i updated the addon they would know about it b4 downloading, and yes i have fixed the error, if you previously integrated the other file (you can tell by omparing the hash) just download the new one and integrate that it will safely overwrite the faulty one :D

My bad dgelwin! I'm sorry. I was in a rush and I saw these files in txtsetup.sif. They were right next to your files... so I assumed they were a part of your theme. :(

ive found that by packing all the icons in my them into an icl, it makes for less hassle, less entries in the entries.ini, and a lot easier for applying same path different index ;)

@avneet25, nope you wont have to delete it everytime you create a cd, because from now one no one is going to use that name in their addons, for example from what i understand kel has claimed xx prefix for all his shellstyles, or i think it was kel

assuming your using the newest version, the only way that your system clock would be coming out white is because your using another addon which includes the LClock addon white which is overwriting the lclock in this theme pack.

let me guess your using siginets theme pack, or maybe integrating lclock white addon along with this one, or disabled truckers theme? anyone of these would probably overwrite this lclock, in order to avoid this, simply integrate this theme pack seperately after you have integrated all others, or the the letters zz to the begining of its filename to ensure its installed last and overwrites all others

yeah its because the theme uses the segoi font explicitly, but you can change this. to change so that it uses your own font here are the steps.
1.- right click on desktop
2.- click properties.
3.- click on the appearence tab
4.- click on the advance button.
5.- in the item section, select all the items you want to change to other font and change them.
6.- click apply.
7.- click ok.
8.- log out/ log back in, or restart whichever is your preferrence.
9.- enjoy
