[Release] MST TrueType Font Properties Extension

Post by Zacam » Tue Nov 15, 2005 5:42 am

As per a request:

shx_ZacamAddon_TTFExt_v3.cab

MD5 Hash: CF01B88E53F2F8C56F3BD0174E8EC4C7

Code: Select all

02/08/06: Moved hosting to addons.ryanvm.net
v4: 12/24/2005: Recreated and uploaded to Upload2.net
v3: No big update, just compressed the files inside, cleaned the ini.
v2: Corrected missing CopyFiles section.
Thanks to Xable's corrections of my first attempt at an addon, this one should work out much better. :-)

Unfortunately, It isn't working...

It is integrated correctly (Added to DOSNET.INF, TXTSETUP.SIF, SYSOC.INF) and TTFExt.inf is copied to %WinDir%\INF

Upon examination of TTFExt.inf, I find that it doesn't have any CopyFiles section ! Just registry entries...

Nothing is copied to %WinDir%\System32\ShellExt and the extra tab doesn't appear when right-clicking TrueType font files...

Please fix this, I wanted this too... (using separate little addons for easier maintenance) This is the only thing that wasn't made into a separate addon....

Should now be fixed. One should note that creating this 40 minutes before heading to bed is a bad idea. :-)

My apologies, link now updated (along with MD5).

Thanks for the PM Xable. I'll get the hang of this at some point. :-)

Compressed. :-) Cleaned the ini per PM too.

I just don't like curves that lead into walls.......don't like 'em one bit. :-)

Recreated to ensure 8.3 in dosnet (and just to recreate for excercise)
Changed location to Upload2.net.
Other than that, nothing new.

Happy Holidays all.

As the addon for attribute changer got lost on Upload2.net, I decided to also move TTFExt to addons.ryanvm.net for hosting as well.

Oooooh I discovered this one recently myself and was thinking to make an addon for my next build. You just saved me some time.

Cheers Zacam :)

addons.ryanvm.net links are always 404s if you copy and paste the link into the address bar because of a referrer issue.
Thnx Zacam!

@TD

No I was just left- & right-clicking directly on the link. I tried about 6 times or so & got a 404 error each time.

I then posted here saying that. Then I thought I would try just 1 more time & Hey Presto!!!

Okay, I have not forgotten about this, I'm just trying to backtrack some informaiton.

The installation of this version no longer has a help file........come to find out, the previous version doesn't either, since there is veritably nothing in the help file for the last version.

I'm also finding a lot more regkeys being created by this new version that are not being created by the previous version. And while it will theoretically work to just update the the .dll file with the exisitng installer INF, I have not yet tested anything to determine if this is the case.

Either way, I'm going to be updating both of them, as I also want to include the installer update information that was missing in the previous version and include the uninstall information.

What's up with the help file? I get a file not found error when I try to install. So strange. I'll just remove the lines from your ini because I don't really care to have the help file anyway. *shrug*

I made a new addon. I used Zacam's inf (and gave him credit where it was due :)), but added in some more info for compliance purposes. Help file has been removed. And I added in the support for TTC files.

File: ttfext_2.3-dumpydoobyzacamaddon.7z

Considering that the help file actually is not a help file, I was removing it anyway.

I'll take a look at what you did.
