Re: RyanVM Update Pack 2.0.2a - Released January 17, 2006
Version 2.0.2a has been released. It is recommended that those of you who previously downloaded 2.0.2 update to this version. Below is an addon CAB to upgrade 2.0.2 to 2.0.2a Forgive me if this has already been asked, but is there anything those of us who already setup machines with 2.02 need to fix?

1) Yes he took out some non-official post-sp2 updates, since they were likely to cause more problems than solve, since they aren't tested enough. The updated calculator and such is in a seperate addon, so people can choose wether they want to have it or not. You can find it here . Thansk for the an...

Thnaks for the tips. My questions: 1) Didn't Ryan take a lot OUT of the new 2.x versions of the pack? Not just the "non-essentials" from Microsoft but also the little things like the updated calculator and such? 2) Why not do all the integration with nLite? WHat's the advantage of using both inegrat...

Overwhelming!
Since the changes in how the pack works, and with all the new add-on packs, I find it very difficult to know what to install. I'm a geek, I even workied in technical support for Microsoft and ran networks for many large firms, and I still can't keep up with the overwhelming number of options. I'd re...

My #1 obligation is as a college student. I'm carrying 19 credit hours this term taking both senior level and graduate level courses. A pay version wouldn't change the fact that my time (and future) are simply dedicated to that. That being said, next release will be out when nuhi releases an update...

http://ryanvm.msfn.org/faq.html Ryan - I respect you and appreciate your work, but I really think you should consider that when people are anxiously awaiting your next release, even planning on building their systems around you, that's it's not unreasonmable for them (us) to ask you what your curre...

ripple01, I'm pretty sure the problem's due to a missing CAT file. I removed it thinking it wasn't needed, only to find out that it is for uses who actually need the high definition audio driver installed :P. It'll be included in the next version. Sorry about the inconvenience. Has this been fixed ...

Re: The future of the RyanVM Update Pack
As of next month's security releases, the main update pack will be scaled back to contain only the publicly available MS hotfixes along with a select few request-only fixes (such as KB888111 and fixes which specifically postdate other files fixed by public updates). Would you consider continuing yo...

Is there anything WRONG with nlite? I thought I read somewhere here that it doesn't handle something right?
Can nlite use all thee of Ryans packs (patches, WMP, adn add-on)?
Is there any advantage one way or the other to use nlite or the ryanvm integrator?

Is there really a point in it at this point? Out of respect towards those with piss-poor connections, I don't want to make them download a 42MB 1.3.0 only to release a new 42MB 1.3.1 like a day later :P I'm downloading the August fixes now and hope to have them added in later tonight. After downloading all the updates from that page for July and August, you can use nLite to integrate them (or manually if you know how). Obviously it would be easier to just wait for the 1.3.0 update pack, but for those who absolutely, positively, 100% must clean-install now, add the July & August ...

Perhaps some are waiting to do a clean install, but could you not use the Hotfix exe's from Microsoft to integrate manually (or even use nLite's Hotfix Integration function)? The only difference would be the interface in which the hotfixes were applied. Ryan's pack couldn't possibly be that much di...

Re: Where's the next version?
Due to some major changes going into the next release (version 1.3.0), it is postponed indefinitely for the time being. It seems you get pissed off when anyone asks you about releases, and while I understand that it gets annoying with people asking I just want to mention (again) that it would be so...

Apparently Service Pack 3 for Windows XP will contain many of the things that Longhorn will and will be released prior to Longhorn. It probably can't contain anything huge, since the next wave of upgrades due to be ported back to XP - the Aero UI, the file system and the like - won't be done until ...

Due to some major changes going into the next release (version 1.3.0), it is postponed indefinitely for the time being. I may make a small point release like the 1.2.2a update I made available previously, but I haven't decided yet, and like I said in the other sticky, I'm going to have very limited...

Seven new patches due 6/14!

Hello all - I'm ready to do a re-install and have been waiting for 1.1 or 1.2 both of which (according to forum history) have been much discussed but remain ellusive.
