You are missing the point: it is not the question how to remove
unnecessary link, but to find out from where and why it appears?

Up to now I would be simply delete the link after installation.

Leave to UH and OP to sort the things out. You are out of their league!

I am using Total Commander and clicking twice extracts MSVBVM50.DLL
from MSVBVM50.DL_. Trying to copy it is a simplest test.

Another possibility is to overwrite MSVBVM50.DL_ on the USB stick and
try installation again.

Find MSVBVM50.DL_ on USB stick, click twice on it and try to copy MSVBVM50.DLL.
If it gives you error than there is problem on stick and not with WinToFlash.

Will someone be kind enough, to explain the logic behind all this discussion:

IE8 and WMP11 are the only real post XP SP3 improvements and I am sure
that majority users include them in their installations, jet a few people are
advocating abstinence of them but including some exotics rarely used?!
