Re: MSFN.org state

What are you guys going to do in the future if this happens again? I can say this, start backing up stuff that's important. Me personally, I won't be doing the back and forth thing. Glad things are working out but a contingency plan needs to be in place and not run here (only) when msfn is down. Bes...

It appears that Microsoft has yanked the Windows Update fix (KB3161608) due in part to it breaking Intel BlueTooth and then in its wisdom replaced it with KB3172605 which still breaks BlueTooth, details here: http://www.infoworld.com/article/3099109/microsoft-windows/microsoft-yanks-buggy-speed-up-...

Or, one could just create the batch files for both versions, zipp'em up and post a link.
Lot easier, but also leave the contents of the batch posted. This is a reputable site and members know us, so it shouldn't be a problem uploading the files here in zip format.

I'll assume that you haven't installed WAIK and have gotten oscdimg.exe another way. As it works fine for me just check that: 1. The digital signature of windows6.1-kb3125574-v4-x86_***.msu is valid 2. There is at least 20GB free space on drive C 3. Any security software is disabled 4. All windows ...

Here is a small example, NTFS.SYS
the version included in your package is NTFS.SYS 5.1.2600.5712 which is the QFE version and then you have NTFS.SYS 5.1.2600.5782 which is the hotfix version. QFE and Hotfix are NOT the same thing. I think thats where the confusion comes in at.
