Re: List of latest Windows XP patches released?
I see no value in patching windows for vulnerabilities if the system isn't connected to the internet and thus isn't vulnerable. The only patches worthy are functional ones like add support for bluray or exfat. I also see no point in CYA since nobody would agree that running XP is covered by any str...

Re: List of latest Windows XP patches released?
@PJAmerica, Why do you feel that way? I'm not trying to start any kind of argument or flame war, I am truly curious. What advantage does it give you to not use the POSReady updates? Cheers and Regards it's just not something I care for. It's not intended for my flavor of win xp and so I won't use i...

Re: List of latest Windows XP patches released?
Do you want to include POSReady updates? No. Just standard patches that were released. I do not think that such a list exist. Most people here (and at MSFN) likely use the POSReady updates. There is really no reason not to do so (unless we are talking about a specialized, critical system). You coul...

Why waste your time and NOT include the last two or so years of continued updates by excluding the POS updates? You should consider the uSP4, just slip stream it into your original source and you will have a tight OS with great security! Due to the optimizations present, it will be really quick OS!...

Forgive me for asking here but can someone guide me on slipstreaming updated WMP 11/IE8/AIO NET Frameworks and in what order and which ones? This would make my xp pro disc complete. Mind you I would not be using the POSREADY stuff at all. Thank you in advance.
I'm likewise interested in this, so can you suggest any alternatives that actually work? I've tried NTlite, but that's too buggy, and likewise keeps coming up with error messages, such as :-- Detected ’Do not allow compression on all NTFS volumes' policy or disabled NTFS compression on this machi...

Glad you got it to work, PJAmerica. While I agree with you about the desktop, bphlpt, it seems that the number of people familiar with directory structures and command lines is dropping sharply.
