Re: New Computer - Advice & Suggestions Wanted
Being able to install windows 7 very much depends on the platform. Bingo. I don't know the name, but this is a Core i7 8th Gen and Windows 7 will not install on it. When the choose language window pops up, the mouse and keyboard shut off. I tried everything I could find on the net with no change. S...

New Computer - Advice & Suggestions Wanted
I begrudgingly left XP around a year ago due to the browser situation and went to Win 7 x32. For the first time in my life I ordered a ready-made computer from Dell as opposed to building my own. It is coming with Win 10 x64 installed from Dell. I hate OEM bloated installs so know I have to start fr...

Creating Empty Directories
Anyone know how to do this via an inf (ie making an addon create an empty folder)?
Thanks
Edit: Nevermind - I thought I had done this in the past and finally found the addon I had made that required an empty directory.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20170812
MU is not offering KB4025398 even without it being in the update pack.
I'd just let it go and see what patch Tuesday brings. Maybe a new KB with both the exe and dll?

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20170812
What I'm wondering is whether the original KB should be scrapped beings it doesn't seem to exist any longer. This new version is NOT showing up on MS Update, I just saw it on MS Catalog. I meant to do an install using a previous update pack and see if either are requested but got tied up. I will do ...

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20170812
Another weird MS action...
KB4025398 was released containing msinfo32.exe ONLY and is included in this pack.
That file has disappeared from MS Catalog and is replaced by the same KB # dated Aug 28, 2017 but contains msinfo.dll ONLY.

I wouldn't include it, except it fixes a publicly disclosed vulnerability. Just to clarify, I wasn't insinuating that it should not be included. It just took me a while to figure out what happened to my fonts and wanted to save others the investigative trouble. As bad as some fonts look, I'm just g...

How to Deal With Comma in Filename
Does anyone know how to deal with a filename that includes a comma in the copyfiles section of an .inf?
e.g. filename,1.exe (Install says it cannot find "1.exe" in this example)
Thanks
