I thought that the AMD DC Driver was just a work around for MS not officially making KB896256 available to the public? (I could be very wrong  ) Also, the AMD DC driver always makes my PC take about 20 secs or so longer to start up. And I'm pretty sure that the DC driver adds the same switch t...

A question regarding KB896256 and Boot.ini

Hello all, I just read this artical over at the inquirer about many OEM Dual Core PC's not having the correct and needed MS Hotfixes installed. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=38508 So out of pure curiosity, I had a look at the Boot.ini file on 2 of my computers that I use Ryan's upd...

Nice one MrNxDmX :D

I'm looking forward to this one. IE7 is that missing part of my Windows CD ever since it came out.

Thanks for all your hard work, and I can't wait until the patched version comes out. :)

I call them as I see them. There's no rational reason why one single IP address needs to send over 13,000 requests at my download server in the span of a single day. And yes, that's a true example of someone I added to the list this morning. Bloody hell! OK Ryan, I totally agree with you......

Not sure about offending people by calling them names, they just like the work you do Ryan. But I see your point over the bandwidth.

roirraW, I have been having plenty of fun with this KB900325! But I totally get your point with this needing .NET 1.1 and .NET sp1 installed first. M$ have made a right mess out of this so called "holy grail" that was supposed to be .NET! I would have liked to just install the latest and greatest .N...

Boooggy, or anyone else that knows how to make addons, can you help me out here? I have taken out hotfix KB895572, and removed it from the paths.ini file, and can confirm that this makes the rollup pack install while Boooggy's media player 11 addon is installed. What I need, is the ability to re-pac...

Ok Boooggy, I've found that the problem is with the KB895572 hotfix. It errors out, and says this: Update cannot install due to media player 10 not being present, or update already applied. So that is the reason the Rollup pack will not install. Now, I followed your instructions, and have found that...

You know I'm right!

I spent about 5 hours re-installing multiple setups of Windows.

I'm not exactly sure Boooggy will be able to fix this, I think something in the rollup pack, is searching for Media Player 9 or 10, and not finding it!

I have spent the last few (many!!!) hours testing for the reason why the MCE 2005 Roll-up update fails to install. I have gone through all of my addons, (53 of them!) and have found that the one that breaks this MS patch (KB900325) is Boooggys Media Player 11 addon. I have also tried his latest Vani...

Please dont take this the wrong way, but did this ever get fixed?

I really don't know why this was dropped by the creator. I thought it was a rather cool and useful addon pack, to be honest.

I have found the same roirraW. I just treated this the same as my old XP Pro disk, and had already combined the 2 install cd's and made one DVD image of it, so thats definatley the way to go! Here goes then... The Integrator had no problems with the disk, and correctly identified it as being Windows...

Well, I will try and do some playing at the weekend, and I'll see what happens to it. As far as I know, there should be nothing drastically different, and I get the impression that it's just Windows XP, with a media application thrown in, and better support for TV tuners etc... But I'm probably wron...

Thanks for that Siginet. Do you know if there are a large number of updates that are not part of the update pack? I ask this, as the OS is still in it's box, and I have not got round to playing yet

A question about Win XP Media Center Edition...

First of all, I would like to say thank you to Ryan, and all the others here that make up this wonderful service. I have a question, I have just purchased a copy of Windows Media Center Edition 2005 SP2b. And what I want to know is, is it safe to use the various updates, addons and switchless instal...
