Hmmm, not sure about this one. But I would say that XP only loads the appropriate resources, to save system memory. And maybe a good reson for that is that XP supports higher bit depths, and higher resolutions in it's resource files than 95 or 98 ever did.

I personally would not touch another nVidia chipset, not with all the data curruption stuff thats still going on!!! :wink:

But it's fair to say that the nVidia stuff is a bit faster, but at a cost of your mobo potentially dieing after 6 months.

One of the latest boards from Asus is the P5Q Deluxe with the Intel P45 chipset. It's the DDR2 version, but they also make a DDR3 version too.

The DDR 2 version is the one i'm looking in to at the moment.

When you use a lot of addons, (I use nearly 90) it leaves the door open for the kind of problems I'm getting. But I always try to figure the problems out, and sometimes post before I have checked enough!!!

Nice one Bober. I am just waiting to see what is causing the runonce IE error. I am still testing this out. *EDIT* It was the Adobe 9 addon that caused the IE RunOnce error for me.

Yes it was an old Tool i can't remember with tool it was ist was long time ago. And this is why it's good to include this in a state-of-the-art SP3 update package? And to force it on people that don't need it, and do not want it on their systems is just bad. dude... you edit 3 lines in the entries....

Have you bothered trying to isolate which addons don't work? It may be a painful process if you use a lot, but one by one testing is probably the best way. And, make sure you test both RVMi vs nlite. Funny that you mention it, but I sometimes get that too in VMWare, usually around the installing drivers part of the setup GUI phase. I think it is a bug in VMWare, but cant be shure.

I can report that this update pack does not work, and comes up with an Advanced Inf error. I can only make it work if I use no other addons.
