First off, thank you for the update pack :)

second is a question.. why the removal of the directx run times? was it causing problems? will this make it so that on windows update we have to download/install directx9c?

thanks in advance for any answers :)

Well, it's still in beta, so I'm OK leaving it out for now. Besides, that page makes no mention of fixing any vulnerabilities - just bugfixes and Vista support.

And I removed DX9 because I decided it was of little value to most users and that it would be better suited as an addon for those who needed it.

Thank you for still providing an efficient means of including the latest DX9 runtimes via addon. I realize that not many would have use for it, but I do. :)

With two years of experience in integrating hotfixes, I consider your Update Pack to be equivalent to a true Service Pack. Please keep up the great work.

Ryan, thanks for all the hard work making the Update Packs! They really have made life easier for me. A friend was just talking about setting up virtual machines and having to run all the updates when he does. I'm thinking he's going to be pretty happy when I present him with a disc that has them all built-in. :D

Ryan, will this work on an OEM xp home with SP2B? I have a thread about it in General discussion.

Shouldn't be a problem, though I can't say I've personally tested it.

SP2B
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... tegory=368

This isn't gonna be installed on my computer but on a friend's.

I would think it would work but since it's OEM, who knows what's included and if there is gonna be conflicts with some of the update pack.

I don't even know when this was released. Seems to be in the last 4-6 months

Edit: It seems to be integrating fine at the moment and 'the moment of truth' should be sometime early afternoon Tuesday at least I hope.

Yikes with the stuff I (normally for myself being an SP2 only) integrate into an SP2B disc I get a 750 Meg ISO size. Not good for 700 M CD-RW. I hate being the guinea pig here! But noone else is stepping up to the plate.

Does anyone know what the heck MS included in this SP2B release? I have the disk. Point me in the right direction to find out because I think that RyanVM might need to release an update pack based off of SP2B also, for those that will get these OEM versions now. There is no SP2 only OEM full versions that I could find at newegg. Now 'retail' versions are a different story.

I already found out that dotnet 1.1 is included in this release from personally trying out the exe in the SP2B disc's dotnetfx folder; but there seems to be an unconfirmed problem with update pack (unknown pack version, of course) at http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3242. Not sure what might have caused the problem.

I can't really ask my friend to be a guinea pig here since it's his computer. It wouldn't be righteous. I'm trying to get him the very latest MS stuff since he has no internet connection at the moment.

To RyanVM: could/would you create an update pack only for SP2B that only included everything released from MS newer than Feb 28, 2006 at 8:00 AM, in order to avoid any conflicts/bugs? That's the date that all this disc's files were created. That date and time would be a starting point for you.

RyanVM,

Thankyou very much for including my request for KB924941 Hotfix.

The 2.13 pack works well on my system if I do no nlite customizations-nlite problems go elsewhere, I know; merely just here for completeness.
I did a fresh F6 install using this update pack and some of the addons posted here and am tickled pink; just great, thanks again.

Thanks for this update. It's priceless, saves me time when installing XP on multiple systems, and ultimately allows me to fully update and customize the install to my liking.

I have used the previous v2.12+2.12a updates pack with a Dell OEM CD. The CD was originally SP1(a?) and I had slipstreamed SP2 onto it.

Interestingly, I then slipstreamed some of the DriverPacks (http://www.driverpacks.net/) and it seemed to break the OEM CD's installation of all the useless and expired software the Dell came with that it normally installs, which is a wonderful side effect.

I had tested the the disc after the RyanVM integration but before the DriverPacks and it had installed the software at that time, so it must've been due to something in the DriverPacks.

I don't know anything about SP2B myself, but there's various threads around with information. Try this one if you have the patience to decipher it. I wouldn't expect RyanVM integration to break on it, however.

If SP2b just includes 912945, then this update pack is still necessary.

High Defination Audio Class Driver (KB888111) is not working, I tried update pack on clean XPSP2 CD with Media Player 10 addon pack and without Directx addon.

Thank you so much for the October release, a masterpiece (as always). Now, with IE7 and WMP11 coming, I can't wait for the November update pack (this is going to be a lot of work for you guys, I know). Keep up the good work, I'm getting more and more interested by doing addons. I might take a look into it.

Hi Ryan,
As always, Thank you for the update pack.
But, What about KB923996?
Your update pack mshtml.dll version: 6.0.2900.2963
Extracted KB923996\SP2GDR\mshtml.dll version: 6.0.2900.2975
Correct?
