Highmat

Post by Amitri » Thu Aug 25, 2005 5:14 pm

Hi Ryan first post so don't be too rude. Have a suggestion. Is there a chance for the next version to move HighMAT CD writing wizard from addon to main update pack.
I believe it is the only update showing in WU after fresh 1.3.1 + WMP10 install at least at my 2 PCs.

Thanks for your great work again !

not everybody likes that updates

many people are using other burning software like Nero, etc and dont need it... so I dont see any reason why it should be moved to main cab oO

It's staying put, however I do have plans to further change the addon packs in the future. You'll have more flexibility as to what parts you want then ;)

Amitri, do you jump from the hill if someone tells you?

The Highmat Update is completely unneccesary for most customers. I don't know anybody who uses it

The only reason is to make WU happy. I'm not using it neither, but since there are other extras included (GDI fix, Flash...) I thought this as a option not needing the main addon pack.
Anyway, keep up the good work 8)

I think it would be good as an addon like WMP10 but not in the update pack itself. I'd like to have it only because I allways install all updates on my clients computers even if it is a usless update.

Reason for me to drop the Highmat Update out of the Dutch pack was because I could not remove it with nLite so my cd would get bigger.

@RyanVM,

Can you list off exactly what is required in the registry of HighMAT for Windows update not to say it needs to be installed?

I have 1.3.1, WMP10 and the addon pack...no nlite and for some reason it says I have not installed it.

I have modified the Addon Pack just to remove unlocker and the sysinternals stuff...I have reviewed the entries.ini and the INF files line by line and they are identical to your minus the unnecessary lines that I removed

PLEASE HELP

You can't. Why do you think Microsoft uses ActiveX for their site?

You are just so naïve...

@hp38guser

Was that a response to me?
I have not changed anything in relation to HighMAT but for some reason it's not recognized...

With the original Addon Pack it was fine...with my modified Addon Pack its missing something but I can't determine what it's missing.

Could something related to HighMAT be listed as a registry key under the sysinternals stuff?
