Some...problem... or not ?

Post by jeckhack » Sun Jun 03, 2007 3:30 pm

Hello there. I got a question. Probably this depends on update pack.
In my %windir%\prefetch folder i haven't file layout.ini
And the other times I installed winxp the situation was the same...
But .pf files are there and it looks like Prefetcher is working...
So where's my layout.ini file? :?:

This would not be related to the updatepack. Nothing in the updatepack or the integrator makes any modifications to layout.ini or where it is located.

I can also confirm I have a layout.ini on all of the computers I have access to that I have installed with many different versions of the updatepack and integrator.

Are you sure it's actually affecting anything? I personally wouldn't spend a lot of time fixing a "problem" if it's not really a big deal.

Is it a very new install? If so it might take a few reboots/restarts for it to show up as I think I read somewhere it only optimizes the layout every third or fourth reboot or something like that. Are you installing any third parties defraggers like O&O / Perfectdisk on the install disk?
