WPA2 support not integrated?

Post by windozer » Sun Mar 02, 2008 3:45 am

As far as I have seen, the update pack does not include an update for the WiFi encryption. So after installation there is no WPA2 available. But I consider this to be essential for users with WiFi. Can this be added?

It is KB917021 (which replaces KB893357):

Hey, use "Search" first next time before posting such nonsense.

WPA2 support is part of RVM Pack for quite a long time, two years at least.

I already used search and found the link you told me. However, when I checked the MS article on it, it says:
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.
see:

As far as the information on the MS website is concerned, the latest WPA2 patch I could find, is KB917021. Therefore I am wondering if there might be a mix-up?!

Microsoft KB articles are notoriously unreliable for hotfix replacement information. I use WPA2 on two computers every day. It's in the pack, I promise ;)

BTW, if you peruse the changelog archives, you'll see where the WPA2 patch originally got added many moons ago and was later superseded. The information is all out there if you look around for it.

Thank you, Ryan. I am just not that firm already in gathering all the information. There are so many links and hints in this forum, so that sometimes I get confused. Forgive that I am a noob :-D
