When attempting to install time zone updates for XPx64 with my update pack that are already installed (in my case KB2515337 and KB2519231) I get the following error:

KB251???? Setup Error

Update cannot be installed as a newer or same timezone update has already been installed on the system

But KB2523087 installs without errors as it should.

What does it say in KB2519231.log?

Could be because I have a KB948698 (reg.exe update,) I dont have this hotfix KB942309 (vista only) but this sounds sorta like the same type of error

Is it safe/do you recommend it for English XP?

I dont see the Bold version in lang, do you edit a INF file (and if so which) to add it?

It's actually same pair of fonts on Windows 7 (slightly different but that's likely because of differences in META).

When I'm building my own xp install disc, I always replace frequently used fonts(English, Chinese and Japanese fonts) with Win7 ones so they are not included in my update pack.

You can add the entries into intl.inf but I suggest the usage of code65536's fontreg.

hotfix has changed as listed for Win7/server2008R2 but NOT XP anymore !
all XP references have been removed from the KBarticle

For me KB970159 fixed the UMDF service not starting (I dont know if other language wmp11's had this problem)

Now going to test 7sp1 files see if they work as well (I also notice some MUI files in 7 that apply)

If you're using my WMP addon, the UMDF service starts unless it's used on 2003.

I just remove msdelta.dll from my package.

msdelta.dll is used for decompressing updates delivered to Vista and Win7(from the KB Article), not for xp or 2k3.

BTW the files from Vista sp2 search are working perfectly on XP...Now I wonder, is it possible to port Windows Installer 4.5 from Vista sp2 to XP?

I found the way, how to get hotfix installer for XPS Essential Pack 1.0 ENU.exe . I never see this installer before, here is it:

What must be in your system: KB971276-v3, KB954708 (WIC)

Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003, Windows XP

XPS Essential Pack 1.0 ENU.exe x86
XPS Essential Pack 1.0 ENU.exe x64

If you have non-english system, you can get your installer with 7z, open original XPSEP XP and Server 2003 32 bit.msi (or 64bit) and then extract following files: Binary.EPUPDATE, Binary.SCLANGPACK and rename it to: XPS Essential Pack.exe and XML Paper Specification Shared Components Language Pack 1.0.exe. Thats all
