The
system file checker associated with
Windows File Protection will attempt to replace the unsigned files with signed versions; first from DLLCache, then from your Windows installation disc. It will not find signed files. To trigger the system file checker to validate your system files immediately, type "sfc /scannow" in a Run box.
SetupErr.log in %SystemRoot% will list unsigned system files encountered when Windows was installed on the machine.
SigVerif.exe will list unsigned files present on the system.
An error similar to the following is given when "
QFECheck /v" is executed if the proper registry entries exist.

Installed files? I don't know how changing the file names in "%SystemRoot%\system32\CatRoot" will affect the database.
