Do these update packs work with XP Home?

Post by Zoom7000 » Fri Dec 04, 2009 6:13 am

I tried to create 2 XP CDs yesterday.

XP Pro OEM
XP Home OEM

I integrated Redxii's pack plus some apps and tweaks using nLite. The XP Pro CD worked fine, but the XP Home CD didn't using the exact same config. I got the following error:

Code: Select all

The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corrupt or missing value 0 on the line in section [WinntDirectories] with the key "722."
It worked fine with the XP Pro CD, any ideas what it didn't like in the Home CD?

XP Home must be missing the following line from the [WinntDirectories] section in TxtSetup.sif:

Code: Select all

722 = system32\mui\0C0A
To correct this, the line should be added to the update pack under [txtsetup_dirs] in the entries.ini file.

From "Notes" of the pack:
Use RVM Integrator for XP Home sources.

I missed that as well. :oops:

The [AddLine] entries in entries_homefix.ini could be merged with the [txtsetup_dirs] section of entries.ini to make the update pack compatible with nLite for XP Home sources.

Thank you 5eraph. Copying the lines from entries_homefix.ini to entries.ini fixed it!
