This update pack is really something that I needed. Theres just some small issues that I'm having...

I'm using both nLite and RVM Integrator, and heres the issue that im having:

I'm using a Japanese Windows XP (PRO) RTM as source. After slipstreaming SP2 and using your update pack, everything goes well. Now heres the thing.. After I install XP and check system nfo. It doesn't show my processor info at all see via this pic:

Image

reg info was removed due to safety cautions.
Im using a MSI motherboard, and this dualcore center utility wont work due to this problem. And this is crucial to have this working, as I cant Overclock the CPU or whatsoever without it.

Anyway I'm not really sure on what to blame, either nLite or your update pack. But it seems that its probably just a hot fix that im missing..
(Windows doesn't probably recognize the CPU) or am I wrong?

I worked with the exact same setup for a US Corporate version, never had any problems at all, except that the keyboard layout and language part seems all messed up.

If im missing some hotfix, I intend to track it down, and probably start building my own updatepack. A Japanese subforum would be great to have here. I intend to post my own work here very soon, just gotta fix this little problem. Wasn't sure if I was gonna start a new thread or reply here, anyways... since this isn't a Japanese subforum, I dont intend to post in Kanji/kata/hiri due to that the majority is probably more used to English ;)

Oh and yeah, I am removing some stuff with nLite. But I have followed the exact same setup for a US Corporate Edition. And I never had any problem like this.

update:
seems that its this hotfix that im missing:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896256
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896256/ja/

Im using a Intel Pentium D 925, so if anyone has any idea please tell me.
The other thing is that when I updated it to SP2, it showed me as version 2180 (in nLite) Here it shows 2002!?

update2:
I tried installing the hotfix but without luck.

KB896256 is too old and is replaced by KB931784.

i have never occured errors like this. so let's wait for others' reporting.

and if you are interested in keeping updating a japanese work, you are free to use/modify any work i have done. it's too hard for me to keep both japanese and chinese update packs at the same time. and any helps you need, just post here.

BTW, you can pm Ryan for a japanese subforum if you are sure to start this project.

Hi all,

First of all thanks for this Japanese post-SP2 update pack. I'm not Japanese and as you will see it can become handy even for non-Japanese people!

A Japanese friend bought a second-hand computer with XP (no service pack) but does not know much about updates and so on. I would like to slipstream SP2 and the latest updates on a CD in order to have a fresh updated system.

I suppose that this pack is the one to use ;-)

Just wondering if it's the most updated one or if there is a way to find a more recent one?
I can take care of the files but my Japanese is not good enough to go through the Japanese forums and find what I need :-(

If I understood well it's possible to slipstream the Japanese SP2 and other updates with 'RyanVM integrator' by enabling the 'convert unicode to ANSI' in the 'advanced options'. Is there something else I should be aware of before to start the process?

Thank you in advance for your replies and help.

Have a nice day,

yumeyao

i'm not really sure. cauz i have never tested on any sp2-slipstreamed source.(though i don't know the difference between retail ver with sp2 and sp2-slipstreamed.)

and... the project i'm working on is paused due to my living-conditions.

I won't continue with Japanese Post-Sp2 update pack, but start Post-sp3 Update Pack, so please slipstream sp3 to you install source.
