Due to no current update packs in existence for almost 2 years, I took upon the liberty to create my own Japanese update pack for my own personal use. However, since I have gotten it working well, I decided to share it here.
This update pack is based on Nonno Fabio's US English Onepiece Post-SP3 update pack v3.7 found here but has been stripped down to allow the resulting ISO image to be overburned on a 80min CD-R.

Since DVD-ROM drives have not reached full market penetration like CD-ROM drives have, and creating a double disc installation is difficult, I decided the best thing to do was remove all non-essentials and to maximize use of capacity of a CD-R. The missing features can be quickly added post installation.
A "Pro" image created using CDIMAGE should result in around 712MB, this should fit most CD-Rs. If there are extra drivers (such as OEM files) that inflate the image size, then remove the \CMPNENTS as no errors would occur from its removal
This update pack was built using the Onepiece's Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator - GUI version. You can use Nlite or RVM Integrator on a clean XP SP3 JPN source, however RVM Integrator is recommended since it does a better job at cleaning up after itself and compress more files.
Also since this update pack is based on the v3.7 of the English version, you should be able to integrate this update pack with a clean source of XP MCE 2005 SP3 as discussed here. This is untested as I don't have a XP MCE 2005 JPN!
Please note that the entries.ini and opmwxpup.inf files have been modified from the English version (which the Onepiece's Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator generates) in order for localization and feature removal be necessary. Please do not attempt to set WinRM, PowerShell, PowerShellISE, MicrosoftUpdate, Silverlight, MSXML4, WDSearch, BitLockerToGo, BrowserChoice, netfx20, netfx30, and netfx35 to "on" either from winnt.sif or from the opmwxpup.inf file directly. You will break the Windows Setup program!nonno fabio wrote:IE8 integration esthetic side effects (not UpdatePack bugs):You don't like any of the components included in OnePiece's XP Update Pack?
- setuperr.log will point out harmless error messages about some IE files like imgutil.dll, inetcpl.cpl, inseng.dll, mshtml.dll, msrating.dll, pngfilt.dll, occache.dll, webcheck.dll (caused by the patched Syssetup.dll used for integration and then restored with the original one). If you don't tolerate it you can integrate in addition this Onepiece Repair IE8 cosmetic problems addon
(Hash MD5 5C7AF8CA9F637C993F4AEEFFB63F39ED - Filesize: 1.28 Kb - updated 2008-03-27) which does nothing else than cleaning those false errors in your setuperr.log file. Please note that in some rare configurations the integration of this addon could cause issues
- you can easily uninstall some of them from Windows Components Wizard after windows setup (a clean XP SP3 source is needed). "Clean" in this case means "with neither AIO UpdatePack nor IE7-8 integrated".
Then you can use a Run window to totally delete the components from your live system, typing this commandOther supported switches are HIDE (removes the component from Windows Component Wizard list) and SHOW (shows the component in Windows Component Wizard list): http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/1386/cattura3.pngCode: Select all
rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection OPMWXPUP.inf,%Optional Components NAME%.CleanUp
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/1720/cattura4.png
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/5121/cattura5.png- Alternatively, you can also disable their installation listing the one you don't like installed in a Winnt.sif file (see also here), under [components] section, with an "= off" by their side. Here's an example of a Winnt.sif [components] section disabling ALL the optional components of Onepiece's AIO Pack. List only those you want to disable.(updated 09-11-16):
Code: Select all
[Components] DirectX = off MDX = off IMAPI2 = off ICCDSCD = off WgaNotify = off WRMC = off
- Or, again, you can remove them from XP source after UpdatePack integration: simply run a new RVM-i integration session on your updated source and add one or more of the small RVM-only addons that you'll have previously extracted from this suite: (updated 2010-05-13):

NB *"REMOVE" addons are RVMIntegrator-only!! the entries.ini removal values are not supported by Nlite.
** Please note also that, due to a RVMi limitation, Removal Addons could break XP setup if integrated in the source at once in the same RVMi session: you must run your regular integration with Nlite or RVMi then, before making the .iso, one or more additional sessions of RVMi to finish off your source with the desired removal addon.
Let's recap! the right order is:
Run RVMi and integrate Update Pack - rerun RVMi and integrate first Removal addon - rerun RVMi and integrate second Removal addon - ... - rerun RVMi and integrate last Removal addon - rerun RVMi and integrate your preferred SW - make the .iso.

Known issues:
- Windows Live Photogallery will not install due to a bug in msi.dll. A workaround is available.
- Qfecheck may report:
This maybe a bug in the kb942288-v3.cat (Japanese localized version) file. I've given up correcting it as I already spent too much time working on this update pack. Windows Installer works correctly (other than for Windows Live Photogallery) though, so it is not really a big deal.KB942288-v3: This hotfix should be reinstalled.
The following files are not valid in the system catalog:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSISIP.DLL - There are redundant catalog files from hotfix supercessions when I built this update pack. I don't care to clean them out because it takes little space and doesn't cause any problems.
- Selecting the "Repair" option during Windows XP Setup will remove all update security catalog entries, however all updates are still there. Due to the removal of those catalog entries, Windows/Microsoft Update may prompt you to install them.
This update pack is NOT planned to be updated again unless there are major issues immediately upon this release, please do NOT expect an update due to how time consuming it is to make an update pack. Anyone is free to update/maintain it. Please do not complain or request a full featured update pack like the English version. You can create/use addon packs for the missing features but that is at your own risk and is untested!
