Hello!

First a question to clarify something you said: you slipstreamed Ryan's (XP) Post-SP2 pack into Windows 2000? I wouldn't do that, even if you had seeming success with that in the past.

In answer to your question whether you can do the same with this pack, yes, this will take a Windows 2000 SP4 install CD and make it up to date. You may want to grab the DirectX 9 update pack specifically for Windows 2000 from OnePiece in this forum as well.

I don't know anything concrete about USP being updated, although I might've heard "something" sometime in the last year, but I've had great success with this pack in the past. I always use it with nLite.

Thanks for the reply, but I need to clarify,I slipstreamed USP 5,and used Ryan's pack to update the cd.Also I found the USP 5.2 subject,it's on MSFN Forums, and was supposed to be released by now,but apparently there is a problem with driver signing,so it could take awhile yet.So I'll probably go the same route as before using nlite,USP 5.1 and OnePiece. Thanks again. :)

Okay, I asked because Ryan's pack isn't made for Windows 2000, it's made for Windows XP SP2.

Also, why use both USP 5.1 AND the OnePiece update pack? OnePiece contains everything that USP 5.1 has, plus all updates that have come out since USP 5.1 and ones that superceded the ones in USP 5.1. It's not wise to use multiple major update packs like that, not to mention that it makes more work than is necessary. Also might as well mention that I don't remember ever having any problems with driver signing with the OnePiece pack.

All you need is this OnePiece update pack, the small addon that's also mentioned in the first post of this thread specific for nLite users of this update pack, plus OnePiece's DirectX 9 for Windows 2000 addon and you're set.

Hi, Nonno fabio,
I have a 500 GB Western Digital hard drive. Since I remember, Even Service Pack 4 does not support installing on hard drives that are more than 160 GB. Therefore, I can not install the untouched version of Windows 2000 Professional service pack 4 on it. I have 12 partitions on my hard drive. Setup cannot recognize and format my partitions correctly.
If I update my CD with your latest update pack, Can I install without any problem?
I can install the integrated, unmodified Windows 2000 Service Pack 5.1.2195.24 Refresh successfully.
Thanks.

The Hash MD5 checksum for UpdatePack 2.9.0 fails.
My download has MD5=A6B3BAE366C5541E61FBC0D47830E3B1.
I downloaded it twice.

@pdl808: our MD5 was wrong. Copy-paste error, sorry.

@armond: we can test it only in a VM but try if integrating this addon in your Win2kCD works

Hi,
Unfortunately, The LBA48bit AddOn doesn't solve the problem. Setup still cannot recognize my hard drive correctly.
Are you sure that your addon should work?
Any other recommendation?
Thanks.

Hi, nonno fabio,
I guess I have a small problem with the update pack....
I used a clean win2k sp4 source and integrated the update pack using RVM Integrator 1.5.1 without any extra addons...
The installation went on well but I got security warning for digital signatures for some audio controller. After installation, I saw that multimedia files (mp3, wma, videos etc..) could not be processed by WMP 9. I got the 'Open With' Dialog Box on accessing the files. I selected WMP 9 but I got a 'codec not found' error. I installed the K-Lite codec pack which fixed this problem.
What about the built in codecs? Please help me!!

In a VM with 180GB VHD, it works: see the attached image.

@ajeeth12: not a critical bug but we're pretty sure we'll fix it soon ;)

Hi, nonno fabio,
I have to copy the SETUPREG.HIV file to solve the problem. Thanks Kelsenellenelvian for the info.
What about the problem with the DirectX addon?

I'm glad to know you've solved your problem.

DX addon has been improved with the latest build but this caused a problem with Integrator: Onepiece is fixing it. In the meanwhile you could use Nlite.

EDIT: fixed "codec not found" WMP9 bug

EDIT: fixed DX9 "no sound with Integrator" bug

Um, I don't know about the unsigned digital signatures, but disabling SFC, there's an addon somewhere on here you can use if you're using RVM Integrator, or nLite has the option, I think in the tweaks section.

Ah, whoops. Hehehehe...forget where I'm posting. I wonder if they work anyway.

Maybe the only way for Win 2000 is through nLite then.

Anyone else know?

i've tried this:

base cd sp2

nlite session 1
- integrate usp5.1 refresh
- integrate post usp5.1 refresh hotfixes

nlite session 2
- integrate onepiece W2k DirectX 9.0c Mar08 w/upd. UpdatePack v2.9.0
- integrate onepiece Onepiece WMP 9 w/updates for W2k Addon v2.9.0
- make bootable iso

installed with no errors, no unsigned driver
works perfectly

i hope this post will be a help to figure-out why onepiece w2k post sp4 update pack has unsigned driver error during install.

No update to IE 6

Post by jbob » Sun Jun 08, 2008 3:17 pm

Thanks for this. I'm working on an older system. I used the RVM integrator 1.5.3 and a SP4 Slipstreamed Win2K source. I included Kels_CPL multipack addon, and the OnePiece 3.0.0 Update pack. Install went without a hitch however it looks like IE stayed at version 5. Doesn't the OnePiece pack update IE 5 to IE 6 sp1? Or maybe I did something wrong!

Interesting. Well, all indications are that this update pack should update to IE 6 SP1, so I would venture to say that something either went wrong or the update pack has a glitch. I may be installing Windows 2000 on an old laptop in the next couple of days but I don't have time to test it before then.

AFAIR, it did update it to IE6 in the past, but my Win 2000 installations are too few and far between.

Interesting enough I then applied a fully updated AutoPatcher(Win2K) and it looks like it required almost all those Hotfixes as well. I didn't look closely but from that I would presume none of the Hotfixes were slipstreamed into the install by the RVM Integrator.

I'll take a closer look later to see if I might have botched something up.

And for another eye here is the Log file from the integrator. Too me looks like it just bypassed the One Piece.

However, a problem I've had with AutoPatcher is that it doesn't seem to recognize when a hotfix has been slipstreamed, because I think it just checks registry settings, not actually examine the version of the installed file. I could be wrong, though. It's been a little while since I used that great program.

Cheers and Regards.

Ok redownloaded and got the correct Hash this time. Will try building the install CD again and see what happens. Will report back later.

After reading this thread I wonder how the SP4 SR1 update fits in to all this. MS released a Service Release to SP4(KB891861-SP4-SR1). I assume the One Piece Update pack also incorporates all post SP4 hotfixes. What happens it you Slipstream SR1 to SP4 and then use that as the source for the RVM Integrator?

I don't think you can straight out slipstream Update Rollup 1 to SP4. There might be some way to disect it, and then integrate it in some manual fashion, but I know you can't slipstream it, and I doubt if you can "integrate" it using nLite. It's my impression that this 2000 SP4 Update Pack should contain everything Post-SP4, including the Update Rollup.

I went and reread the Topic post and sure enough it does cover the SR1 Rollup package. It's listed by the KB number as an included Hot Fix.

Finally got it working

Post by jbob » Tue Jun 10, 2008 8:20 pm

Finally had time to redo my Win2K install CD. For first run of the Integrator I used the OnePiece DirectX Update pack only. Pointed to a slipstreamed SP4 i386 source. When that was finished I then reran the integrator now pointing to the updated i386 source files. And this time I used the OnePiece Update Pack v3.0.0 and also incorporated Kels Multipack, OnePiece's Revolutions Pack and Script 5.7 Addons.

No errors on install, except for the unsigned driver pop ups(not really an issue for me), and IE properly updated to v6 sp1.

Works great.

I don't guess so. Unfortunately it's a too big modding work with uncertain conclusion.

New Win2k Update Pack is at first place of Onepiece's to-do list, along with IE8b2 addon.

He hopes to close and release them in a few days
