ok Ryan i folowed all your instructions but trying to use it on WMP10 i get all the way to creating the new exe and when i run it it tells me that config has failed...please help...I'm a complete noob to all this switchless install but it sounds cool...would like to learn

Are you sure you saved the text file as UTF-8?

i followed those instructions but it says to save the text file as config.txt
what is UTF-8?

ok i tried that n i'm still getting config failed....i've tried a few switches and a few program names (are you meant to type the .7z file in the config.txt or the setup program inside the .7z file

;!@Install@!UTF-8!
RunProgram=WMP10.7z /qn
;!@InstallEnd@!

Or

;!@Install@!UTF-8!
RunProgram=setup_wm.exe /qn
;!@InstallEnd@!

Well what do the directions say? You call the EXE

And are you sure that's a valid switch for the EXE? Last time I checked, /qn was only for MSI files.

Looks like you've got to do more homework on how to actually run the EXE before making a switchless installer for it.

i think i cracked it ...i'm not getting the config failed anymore i think i was calling the wrong exe! thnx for your help man

Hmmm .. I use WinRAR for switchless stuff nowadays. It works with everything (so far), and it creates just one file. I'm about to test the entire Adobe CS2 Premium Suite as a one file switchless installer. Pretty cool if it works!
