Some are.... Some are not....

There are some cab addons that can be used with the Integrator in the switchless installer forum.....

Full Version Java 5 Update 8:

Lite version Java 5 Update 8:

NOTE: This one is .exe..... But most .exe files (in the switchless installer forum) can be made into a .cab file for use with the Integrator very easily....

I guess it comes down to what you consider a "TRUE" addon.....

Me personally.... If, when windows comes up for the first time, and something is installed... Then its a addon.... In my opinion.... It might install from svcpack @ T-13.... But its there and done when windows boots....

Just my opinion on the matter.... :D

Ryan, is creating JRE5.0 Update 8 still in your pipeline? :) I was wondering if you're planning to do it ;)

I keep most of your installers which are very useful for post-installation setup though. Please do keep up your work on future updates (for installers).

It appears that Java 5.0 Update 8 has been pulled from www.java.com

They have reverted back to update 6???? 5.08 is still available for download navigating through sun's main website: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

java.com is rarely up to date.

I'm still planning on updating the installer on my site - sorry it's taken so long. I've been busy as of late and haven't had much time. That being said, I need to do a fresh XP install on a friend's computer shortly, so I'll for sure need to update the installer by then :P

java.com did in fact have update 8 for all of last week and it was pulled without any explanation just this recently. I wonder if there was a critical issue that made sun do this?

No, I completely forgot about that. However, it's possible it was a bug in the JRE507 installer from Sun, so maybe it's fixed by them in 508.

@Ryan, jre6.exe still installs to ProgramFiles. If you are thinking of changing that then I could wait but if not then I will just change it myself for my own usage.
