POSReady wasn't a hack, though, it was an actual XP-based release Microsoft created for embedded systems.

Therefore, one can add a single entry to the registry and cause XP SP3 to receive POSReady 2009 updates, but there's no porting that tweak to 2k3, no way. Sorry! OTOH, 2k3 x64 updates were used to update XP SP2 x64, way back, but now both are EoL, so it's no use.

If you can trace code changes then you can back port to 2k3 binary like WildBill and BWC did for Win2k
