Starting to get excited

Post by RyanVM » Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:38 pm

I'm going to see Seether and Shinedown at the Electric Factory in Philly Friday night. I've seen Shinedown once before and they are great live. I can't wait to see Seether too, because I've got a feeling they're gong to bring the house down.

So, you guys see any good shows lately? Going to see any soon? This is my first concert since seeing Metallica w/ Godsmack at the Wachovia Center in Philly in October of 2004. I'm stoked

...don't make me break out into a chorus of Straight Up on you

EDIT: Though I have to say that I've always found it to be quite ironic that she's judging talent on American Idol, given her lack thereof.

Seether? ShineDown? What's that? I haven't been to a concert since I seen Styx at the Worlds Fair Park in Knoxville a few years back. I'm not much on going to concerts, I'd rather see their live performances on my widescreen blasting through my 300W surround sound system. I can't stand the crowds. ;)

Well, the show yesterday was great. Made me glad I had earplugs since it was a club environment, but both bands sounded incredible. For those of you who are familiar with their body of work, Shinedown had a pretty good mix of both their first and second albums, and Seether mostly did stuff from Karma and Effect, but they did do some of their classics from Disclaimer as well (Gasoline, Fine Again, etc). Seether also did an AWESOME cover of Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box.

All combined, the show went for about 5 hours (they had two other bands opening before them and a lot of downtime between sets). My neck is sore today from headbanging so much last night :P

Some might argue that from the age of 18 til about 27, my primary career was going to concerts :D

Best concert: Stevie Ray Vaughn / Johnny Winter
Runner up: Butthole Surfers / Stone Temple Pilots

If Monster Magnet ever comes my way, nothing will stop me from going to that one!

Monolithic

It's a hefty download, but oh so worth it!

I'd love to see STP in concert if they still existed :P. I wouldn't mind seeing Velvet Revolver either, though :)

The band that I would love to see in concert is Rammstein or Pet Shop Boys.

I should've mentioned I seen the concert that was broadcast on InHD of one of Motley Crue's concerts not too long ago. It wasn't too bad, but I liked them better back in the 80's when I seen them at the civic center in the Star City. I missed the one that Metallica did on InHD here a while back, I was hoping they would replay it, but I haven't seen it again yet.

The ones I'd actually go to, if they were still together and touring nearby, would be either Rush or Blue Oyster Cult.

I know I couldn't make it, it was too far away for me. :(

I thought I had heard they broke up recently too, though I may have been hearing things too, I've had a problem with that lately. I haven't checked their websites lately to see what they are up to either.

I'd love to see Guns N' Roses (Orignal Lineup) play to like 200,000 people at Rock In Rio!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Spose the new band would be a good runner up!

Is that the same tour as the infamous pyrotechnics accident (and subsequent riot)?

I believe it was. As far as I can remember the show I went to was pretty uneventful in that regard. The STP / Butthole Surfers show I went to on the other hand got way out of control lol.. chairs and big chunks of sod were flying everywhere. Once again I was pretty in the bag and I thought that there were a ton of bats flying around. It was only the next morning when my Dad asked me about the rioting that I found out otherwise.
