is this correct?

Post by dabud » Fri Mar 17, 2006 5:50 pm

I just went thru the process of slipstreaming a XP SP2 CD including slip streaming RVMUpdatePack2.0.4.cab.
I had no problems. I used nLite to do this. Very straight forward and easy.
I put the CD i burnt into the cd rom and it comes up with the windows install screen.
The only problem [?} i have is that when i look at the CD in windows explorer, it still lists win51ip.SP1 as well as win51ip.SP2

My question is: Is this file { win51ip.SP1 } supposed to be here?
Or have I done something wrong.

The complete list of files and folders are:
folder - cmpnents
folder - DOCS
folder - I386
folder - SUPPORT
folder - VALUE ADD
file - AUTORUN.INF
file - Last Session.ini
file - Last Session_u.ini
file - README.HTM
file - SETUP.EXE
file - setupxp.htm
file - spnotes.htm
file - WIN51
file - WIN51IP
file - win51ip.SP1
file - win51ip.SP2

thank you

hi ty for speedy reply.

Could you also tell me if I can remove this filewin51ip.SP1 before i burn another copy.
So that i can possibly have room for more stuff on the XP SP2 cd.

THANK YOU again

You should be able to remove win51ip.SP1. It's only there to show that Service Pack 1 was included in the source at some point. That file is absent when slipstreaming SP2 into an XP RTM source.

It's safe to remove. No files on an XP SP2 CD even reference it.
