Mrs. Peel, and all contributors on this board, Thanks for all the work you do on add-on packs and to promote this on-line community.

In your description for this add-on you mention that Copy handler is in your top 20 most used freeware utilities. Can you enlighten us with the rest of your top 20 list?

The only reason I ask is that I'm always looking for someone to mention a tool of some sort that I've never heard of, enriching my computing environment and putting me onto something I've never seen.

This is the first post i have made on this board, but your statement got my curiosity up. I've learned an awful lot by examining some of the add-on packs created by you and a few others.

I suppose I should have moved this question to a new thread, but here it is anyway.

Damn that list was much harder than expected. OK well you did say "most used" freeware, so this list does not necessarily equate to my most "favourite" freeware and it is rated for how I am working at the moment with doing so much addon packs lately - so that might vary sometimes.

1. PSPad Editor
2. JoeJoe's ArsClip
3. Mozilla Firefox
4. ReadError's NetMeter
5. PeerGuardian
6. uTorrent
7. UltraFXP Free Version
8. PopTray Mail Checker
9. Miranda IM
10. hkSFV Checksummer
11. Xplorer2 Lite
12. NirSoft RegScanner
13. Directory Lister
14. File Case Shell Extension
15. JoeJoe's Rename Master
16. WinRoll
17. Locate32
18. Copy Handler
19. XnView Image Viewer
20. Mp3Tag Editor

I have all these apps made as addons and the ones that are not currently released on the board is cos I am still negotiating authors consent to redistribute them here.

Excellent idea for a thread ;)

PS: If the question was "most favourite" then PSPad would still be right up there at the top with Firefox running a very tight second.

Linux has its uses, but you can't play too many games on it. Nice for serving them though. ;)

I'll spare you all my list. It's mostly network utilities and games.

@Ryan... I think we should ban most everyone in this thread now! Since our app is not their most used freeware tool! :(

BTW... I guess you can ban yourself included! ;) lol!

J/K everybody!

@Siginet: If you think about it, RVM Integrator shouldn't be the most-used, just the most useful. :) Unless someone is a glutton for punishment and rebuilds their Windows Unattended Installation and re-installs Windows with it 3 or 4 times a week. I guess there might be some people out there...

This thread just started when I asked MrsPeel for the rest of her referenced top 20 most-used utilities (in the comments for her Copy Handler release.)

I was just curious and like thew idea of lists like this to bring interesting new toys to my attention... which it has...

I guess we are just not all installing Windows again each and every day...

Maybe we should start a new topic on what kind of freeware utilities you use to setup your new installation? (I can think of several)

I was just kidding guys. ;) But I do make new disks constantly. That is why I made these tools. So I can easily make new disks all the time. :)

What do peeps here use for email.... I use Thunderbird.

How about putting the type of prog next to its name, would definately make it easier to understand what apps do what, since alot of peeps may not be familiar with the names.

Browser : Mozilla Firefox
Email : Mozilla Thunderbird
A/V Viewer : MythTV on XBox
A/V Tools : Sharks Filter & Codec Pack
System : Sysinternals tools
Doc Viewers : Foxit PDF Reader
LAMP Server : Apache / MySQL / PHP on CentOS
Unattended Installations :
- nLite / RyanVM XP SP2 Update Pack / Personal Win2K3 SP1 Update Pack / AutoRIS / BTS Driver Pack
Virtual CD-ROM : DaemonTools
Productity Suite : OpenOffice

Most of my other apps aren't freeware. Be interesting to see what other apps (non free) that peeps are using tho.

And of course Sun Java, QuickTime Alternative Lite v1.81, K-Lite Codec Pack, and Real Alternative Lite that runs in the background.

Wow, this was a hard list to do after the first 10 or so.....

I would like to thank everyone who make some of these into addons, I havent quite figured out how to do make them myself yet. I have been attempting with RJ TextEd to no avail.
I havent found the 'simpletons' guide to creating these yet.

Lets have a few more posts on this, I am curious what freeware that everyone is using. I cruise the freeware sites weekly and see lots of interesting stuff and wonder if it really useful and how many people use it regularly.
