Adobe Acrobat/Reader 9.4.4/Acrobat X v10.0.3 Update
quote from Adobe Security Advisory (link above,)
I interpret this as meaning that Adobe X Reader for Windows doesn't need this update.
Am I correct with this interpretation?
This is from the last paragraph of the Summary of the advisory.Because Adobe Reader X Protected Mode would prevent exploits of the type targeting CVE-2011-0611 from executing, we are currently planning to address these issues in Adobe Reader X for Windows with the next quarterly security update for Adobe Reader, currently scheduled for June 14, 2011. For more information, see Security Bulletin APSB11-08.

"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."
yes, since Reader X has sandbox feature (Protected Mode) to mitigate the vulnerability. They are not rushing an update for it.
June 14 is the next Quarterly Update release cycle. This update will supersede all these Security Updates/Out-of-Cycle Updates released between each cycle.
