I am aware of the leak, but still there many binaries that need to be prebuilt, and as you said it is not SP3 codebase.
Unfortunately, I am not optimistic that the full sources will be available any time soon.
I can simply add the XP2ESD root CA in the SP4 installation INFs and create an addon with the standalone drivers, but it may not be stable at all.
Is this satisfactory?
Yes, it is satisfactory.
The community will test and the sum from the feedback will give the answers for what is stable to use and what is not.

OK, I will try to work it out within the following days or weeks.

@maxtorix

The first link was rather helpful to get an idea of the patches involved.
The ACPI patches may cause system instability.
If we had the Windows XP source code, it would have been easier than this.

There has been an "extender file" for all backported drivers, called ntoskrn8_51.sys. I have not attempted to analyze the file (yet). I suppose that is based on SP3 codebase.
Extender is forked from Mov Ax.

Code: Select all

 https://github.com/GeorgeK1ng/NTOSKRNL_Emu

New ACPI is created from leaked SP1 source and custom fixes and patches directly to source code.

@maxtorix Not yet. But I have this project in my mind. Maybe this or the next weekend I will work on it.

I would love to see things work out such that SP4 and @George_King's XP2ESD project -- https://forums.mydigitallife.net/thread ... 6-2.82935/ -- would work well together. :) At that point, I'm sure @Kurt_Aust would put up a HOWTO such that anyone could install an XP system on any hardware that they wanted to, right?

When I get the time, I'll look at it (major changes at work).

I am trying to think about the best technical way the files should be integrated. Work in progress. Had many distractions but I hope I can devote a few hours this weekend.

@harkaz, if appropriate, and possible, I hope you keep @George_King's XP2ESD project in mind, as mentioned above, but I understand if his methods are different enough that it is not possible. Just like I wish George's work was compatible with JFX's WinNTSetup - https://msfn.org/board/topic/149612-winntsetup-v53/ - but, from what I understand, it is not. :(

Since it seems that Ryan is serious this time about shutting the site down, please let us know where you will post whatever further material you produce. There is still (a little) life left in XP, and it deserves a final wrap-up.

@bphlpt Regarding IT, I am still at MSFN (although I rarely login there). You can contact me via e-mail.
The driver backports by XP2ESD will take some time to integrate in SP4 update packs and my priorities are currently elsewhere. So there is a possibility I will abandon it.

Regarding the conspiracy stuff, if anyone was interested in that, I believe I have posted the most important things already. From now on, we watch and feel the real game of life. My final comment is: If only the masses of conspiracy theorists (and the public) realized and used the power of the scientific method, how different our world would be. Power would not prevail over truth and societies would easily isolate any attackers of civilization. Feel free to distribute these ideas, if you find them interesting - no need to mention me.

I thank you all for your support and interest all these years. Take care.

I am @ MSFN already, but as far as I know they do not always allow file sharing (unofficial update packs may not be allowed). If there are other forums more liberal on that matter, I would like to know.
