Seeking MS hotfixes via wayback machine...
Now I'm a newbie about the internet web archive and I think their wayback machine is unbelievable!!!
My issue is I can't download anything from old microsoft sites, I even picked several different dates in the past but nothing seems to work.
Tried seeking for web folders update kb892211 and then for sp1a for winxp but the only result was a block due to the "robots.txt" limitations. Is there some trick to workaround this? I see other guys actually get "real" files and even "real" links, so I must be missing something or so...
Can you help me?

Did you try goin directly to microsoft??
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892211
And why would you want sp1a? Sp3a is the last released.....

It links to another update that's not compatible with Windows 2000 (which brutus1234 uses)... BUT 892211 is available on the bristols' list. The update itself is no longer available to download from M$ servers.

You are actually right!tomasz86 wrote:BUT 892211 is available on the bristols' list.
I see the ita package is missing, and google doesn't help locating it (I know this particular package was replaced by a newer one so I guess MS hidden/removed it). So I thought a web archive would be a valuable resource, since some other packages on bristols' page are now missing as well.
Truth is, I'm not searching for some files, instead I would like to understand a general hint.
I'll explain this idea with an example:
Q: Do you know the area of a rectangle having h=4 and w=3 ?
A: 12
is different than:
Q: Do you know the area of a rectangle having h=4 and w=3 ?
A: The area of EVERY rectangle is h * w. In this case h * w is 12.

@brutus1234, if I understand what you are asking, unfortunately, when searching for Windows files there is NOT a general search method that always works. You have to have a series of places to search, especially for older files.
Rather than using rectangles for your example, using Windows files, what exactly were you wanting us to tell you?
And if you really did need SP1a, and/or you ever want Kel's help for anything else ever again, I would strongly suggest you either further explain yourself or apologize, whichever is appropriate.
Cheers and Regards

Didn't mean to waste your time, sorry.
