Remove 4GB RAM Limit of Windows XPx86 extend to 128GB
Re: Remove 4GB RAM Limit of Windows XPx86 extend to 128GB
Hi Dibya and thanks for your great work on XP.
I'm using the 64 GB of RAM patch (hal64g.dll & ntkl64g.exe) with excellent results. I think it was written by you as well.
I'm considering slipstreaming a new XP install. Should I use the addon in this page instead or stick with the 64 GB of RAM patch ? Do they have any compatibility/performance differences ?

hal64g.dll & ntkl64g.exe is made by another guy ....
You can use his patch if you don't need more than 64gb.

Thanks for your answer. I only use 8 GB of RAM but I'll probably switch to your addon for slipstreaming purposes.

Hello all
Specifically Dibya, been a while...
I am not sure if you are aware, but the link to your XP limitation download doesn't seem to be working. Zippyshare link wants me to download some installer... just thought you should know.

^ The link in OP works perfectly fine. The problem is on your end. Run AdwCleaner and check if you're not full of adware.
Re: Remove 4GB RAM Limit of Windows XPx86 extend to 128GB
I don't like zippyshare personally. I had no money to pay mediafire lately but soon I will upload back to mediafire.
Update is coming

zippyshare is clean, just use an adblocker.
Alteration of the world

Re: Remove 4GB RAM Limit of Windows XPx86 extend to 128GB
Hi Dibya,
Thanks for your hard work on this kit. I still have an old XP box running on my network. I keep it up to date using the POS registry hack.
I notice that the files in the latest kit contain older and newer versions of the files that are currently on my system. The Kernel on my system that was just fully patched today is version 5.1.2600.7581 which is newer than the kit. I am running hal.dll on my system and it is the same version as in the kit. I am not sure about the other flavors of the hardware abstract layer files. hidparse.sys is actually older on my system than the kit. Mine is version 5.1.2600.5512 and the kit is 5.2.3790.5189. I should have the latest so why is hidparse.sys newer? The usb driver files in the kit are all newer than my system. My system has versions 5.1.2600.XXXX and the kit has 5.2.3790.XXXX. Again I should have the latest on my system so why are the versions in the kit newer?
I am also curious how folks are getting around Windows Files Protection? I notice that the Kernel files and most of the usb driver files are protected by WFP. I would think that when you replace the files, WFP would kick in and revert back to the stock files. Please advise.
It sure would be nice to include a readme file in the kit. Explaining the changes needed in boot.ini. It would also be nice to explain the differences in the kernel files so folks no which one to choose. The same applies to the hardware abstract layer files and the usb driver files.
Finally, thanks again for all your hard work. I hope you can answer my questions. I also hope that you will release another version of the kit with the latest patched kernels and the other files if needed.

Re: Remove 4GB RAM Limit of Windows XPx86 extend to 128GB
After slipstreaming USP4 in sp3 sources, I manually replaced all the files with the files in the 128Gpatch and build/burn the ISO.
Setup was fine, XP see all my 8Gb of RAM.
Problems surfaced when I begin to install drivers (video in particular).
I have an HP ProBook 6570b (https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c03370081)
Same problems with HP ProDesk 600 G1 (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp ... pc/5387447)
Maybe I did something wrong?
Maybe the patch is incompatible with USP4?
Please describe the correct update+patch process for xpsp3 Pro-VL
