[Release] Server 2003 version CMD Here AddOn

Post by DisabledTrucker » Thu Jan 26, 2006 2:37 pm

This is similar to the one that Kel's had on here forever except that it doesn't use the dll file and it's from the RKTools package from M$, all it should do is place the inf into your inf folder and run from there when Windows starts up. It also allows you to use CMDHere from the harddrive(s).

EDIT: This not only works for Windows Server 2003, but also Windows XP (all flavors including x64), it should also work with any version of Windows. This doesn't contain any .dll files with it as stated above.

Udate:
2/9/2006 fixed a typo inside the entries*.ini file, it's now installing and working upon all tested operating systems after install. I hadn't realized until after I tested it in Server 2003 that this one wasn't the one I was using for my tests in XP as that one was corrected and this one somehow wasn't the corrected version, so I redid this one and posted it here now too. Hope this clears up any confusion with it.

Try to post your MS5 hash not the SHA1. Because someday we are gonna incorporate MD5 checking directly into the integrator. ;)

Thx.

I was using Sha1 because it's the only one which hasn't yet been cracked as far as I could tell, even MD5 has been hacked already... But I can post both...

Well if the NSA wants to hack the hash for my addons, have at it. They do seem pretty busy spying on all of us right now though, so we're probably safe.

Both MD5 and SHA1 have been broken. A while ago and by the same team, no less. But RogueSpear is right, the fact that they were is irrelevant here since the hashes posted here are used for file integrity verification, not crytography. Heck, good ol' CRC(32) would be plenty for this purpose but MD[4/5] has been the most widely used hash for some time now.

Sources: MD5 attack (PDF), and a handy-dandy generator. SHA-1 attack (PDF) and the blog entry that broke the news about it

Yeah the NSA wants to know what you're doing looking at all those hot chicks on Yahoo, Google, and the like right now... Like that has anything to do with the war on terror they're supposed to be focusing their main priorities on right now...

I've looked this over with XPx64 and it should work with it as well, you should be able to use this with any version of Windows as stated above.

Updated version that I forgot to previously post that contains a fix for the small typo inside the entries*.ini file, it's now working correctly on Server 2003, Windows XP SP2, and I hope in Windows XP x64 and all the rest as well. I've personally tested Server 2003 in VPC 2004 and XP SP2 and it's now working, I'll run the XP x64 test as soon as I get it up and running.
