Many many thank you's. :)

It looks like the developer is getting active with this again, and I put in a request for him to have system folders blacklisted if the user doesn't have admin rights...so when that version gets out there will be a bit of a safety net...but not much since most people run as admin.

Again thank you.

That is a VERY good idea! I hope the guy implements that as a new feature. And I wish he would also filter out recycler and system vol info folders by default too, it's so annoying to have to manually add them :D

Any ways what every suggestions you have for it post here [link]

Hehe as is seems I got my self roped into doing some UI design stuff for it...so for the next day or so I'll be dinking around in Photoshop.

Well it should be interesting since I don't know what he's programming in...or what type of controls he has available....so if I manage to get 70% of what I come up with as usable I'll count it as a win. ;)

Hey nologic, since you are working with Rashid on this project would you mind asking his formal consent for us to use his software in our addon packs please?

He has a clause in his EULA which makes me feel would should get his direct consent.

I'll relink to the addon file when that is sorted.

Cheers m'dears :)

Lubley jubley, thanks :)

It's such a great program I just wanted to make sure we don't offend the author with violating his license agreement ;)

according to the site a beta version of 1.1.0.4 is available :)

and a further notice I saw on that same site, was that it is Freeware... My point being here is then that since it is freeware, u should be able to put a download link here :)
But correct me if I'm wrong

Oh my, you really should take the time to read more user license agreements old chap. Surely you followed our recent experience with Systernals "free" utilities?

Free means "free of charge" and nothing more. There are an infinite number of conditions a software author can place on the re-distribution of his products that he does not charge for and much to my horror I discovered I was violating the fine print of nearly half my addon packs before I reposted them this week.

Nope, I shan't be updating any of my addons to newer beta versions - unless that beta is the very last of the line of that programs evolution eg: Damn NFO Viewer RC3 - so please don't ask me to ;)

mindwarper -

The 1.1.0.4 beta isn't really ready for deployment...the newer treeview has some issues for one...that would in all likely hood put people off, in its current state. It works...but is buggy. Plus there are some UI changes going in this build, before final.

Also along the same lines as what Mrs Peel stated...just because some thing is free doesn't make it public domain.

How ever that said...I have spoken to the developer and he's okay with Mrs Peel repackaging and distributing his application. Now thats not a blanket statement that its okay for every one to do so.

Any ways fyi and all that. :)

Mrs. Peel, can you please verify the MD5 is actually:

29A63315262A16A53B15F8EA671B1E80

instead of:

370e42b8fed32524f8983f1303ae1f6d .

I have downloaded the file twice and I get the MD5 on top.

Thanks for your great contributions, Cheers!

Ooooops I see what I did there, uploaded the previous version of the file by mistake when I reposted this. OK it's all fixed up now and the correct MD5 sum was actually 370e42b8fed32524f8983f1303ae1f6d

Cheers' m'dears

Well it seems that you have three problems here ENU_user....

1. That is not the addon for Dupe File Finder which is posted in this thread, but the addon for Naru's Flexible Renamer

2. That is an obsolete version of my Flexible Renamer Addon Pack which I recoded for 8:3 compliance two weeks ago

3. You obviously didn't bother to read my announcement here which was stickied for three days notifying members to delete ALL old versions of my addons and download the new ones I posted this week.

;)

Are you sure it is for Rashid Hoda's "Duplicate File Finder", and not one of the other dupe file utilities with a similar name (Funduc's utility or "Easy" Duplicate File Finder).

I've been regularly watching for updates to this since Nologic reported that he is going to add this new directory filtering feature and not a sausage.

In fact his domain has been dead for some time, so do you have a link for me please?

Cheers

I don't have a link for a proggy update, was wondering (and was not too clear about it, sorry) if you would be able to update the addon to fit your new standard.

I'll check out the other two programs you mentioned. If the program in this addon is 'dead' then there are certainly alternatives out there.

Well this is the best of the (freeware) ones I have tried so far and I still use it myself. But I am always open to better alternatives when they are pointed out to me.

As to the update-with-uninstaller thing, this was coming up on my list very soon and, as you have probably noticed, positive members responses to my release threads bumps them up higher on my to-do list hehehe Unfortunately, it seems like we might have a brand new problem with my latest uninstaller code, so I am suspending updates for now until this problem is resolved.

Oh god I hope this doesn't mean yet another batch of rewrites for me (((((sob)))) because I have some heavy work deadlines this week and my free time is stretched to the limit :(

Good news - bad news - good news.....

Good news, there was a version 1.1.0.4 released of this. Bad news, their website has been down for a while and I can't find any active download links anywhere for it. Good news, I just rebuilt this with an uninstaller.... cos Newsposter asked me so nicely ;)
