Absolutely brilliant, it was getting a bit tight fitting all on a cd, this makes it just possible again, and removes a lot of uneccessary bloat! Have done 3 seperate real installs using these, and have had no problems so far. Thanks Siginet!

If there are any erros in the files I will look into them and see if I can correct them. If anyone is having problems try using less addons. That way we can narrow down which ones are working and which ones aren't.

I may be openning a can of worms with addons like this. But rudi asked if it could be done and I was sure it could be. I am no expert at slimming down an xp disk. Nuhi is the expert.

Just remember. Whenever you remove something from your disk there is a chance you may break something else.

The point is that the files are extracted, but no file's are removed or any entries are removed from sysoc.inf.

All files are fixed. They should now delete the files from i386 and delete the entries from txtsetup.sif and dosnet.inf. Also on some of them they will remove the entries from sysoc.inf.

They should be removing the entries in sysoc.inf fine allready. If they are not... then that would be a bug in v1.0.5 of the integrator.

I may have to edit the way the integrator does a couple of things... or try a different route at making the addon.

hmm what versionofthe iintegrator are you using? Maybe these addons are not compatable with v1.0.5 of the integrator.

I haven't gotten any problems like that using the version that will soon be released.

v1.05 is a lot different from v1.1.

It may work with 1.0.5. Try the latest tour removal. That is the one that I have tried the hardest on.

It should make all of the changes to txtsetup.sif for sure. It should also do the sysoc.inf changes... unless there is a bug in 1.0.5.

It also should edit dosnet.inf... but for some reason keytotime says that it does not. Please try the latest one and I'd like to see multiple people let me know how it does.

Thanks.

OK... I did a test with 1.0.5 and everything got edited the way it should have... except txtsetup.sif and sysoc.inf. Sorry guys I thought 1.0.5 could do this... but I was wrong.

msnmsn.inf and ocmsn.dll are asked for during setup. Also in the Windows Messenger remover you delete WMAccess.inf but do not remove it from sysoc.inf. Also these files are not removed.

MSNAUTH.CN_
MSNCLI.EX_ - The Client install for msn 10 mb.
MSNSUSII.EX_
MSNAUTH.HL_
MSNMSGS.MS_ Messanger 6 Install 5 MB

EDIT
ALSO the automatic update one removes au.inf but setup still asks for it. It's found in layout.inf and sysetup.inf.
Error:
Setup was unable to process some components because the information file au.inf or its associated layout file is missing or invalid.

OK... looks like some of the batch files that were given to me that removed these things are not correct. Can any of you point me to a place that lists everything that should be removed?

For the tour removal add:

Code: Select all

[ExtraFileEdits]
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht32W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,start_fr.htm||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht33W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,start_icons.htm||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht34W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,start_menu.htm||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht35W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,start_taskbar.htm||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht36W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,start_windows.htm||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht37W.css = 1,,,,,,,92,0,0,style.css||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht39W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,unlock_fr.htm||1
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|xptht41W.htm = 100,,,,,,,92,0,0,unlock_playing.htm||1
For the messenger removal add:

Code: Select all

[obsolete_files]
MSNMSGS.MS_

[old_sysoc]
WMAccess

[ExtraFileEdits]
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|msnmsgs.msi  = 100,,,,,,,,3,3||0
Removal_Accessibility_DeleteAddon_v1.2.cab
Removal_Games_DeleteAddon_v1.2.cab
Removal_SystemRestore_DeleteAddon_v1.4.cab

Work but the Accessibility is still left

Work but the Accessibility is still left
You mean the empty Accessibility directory in the start menu is left behind? I noticed that too. ;)

Edit:

BTW...

Code: Select all

[obsolete_files]
MSNMSGS.MSI
MSNMSGS.MS_

[old_sysoc]
WMAccess

[ExtraFileEdits]
rvmtemp\txtsetup.sif|msnmsgs.msi  = 100,,,,,,,,3,3||0
That is how it should be. ;) You must have the compressed and uncompressed filename in the obsolete_files section. It uses the uncompressed filename to delete the entry from dosnet.inf. The compressed filename will delete the file. The integrator wasn't coded to do what we are doing so basically we are tricking it into doing it. ;)

Thanks Keytotime. I updated the top thread with your version of 1.7. ;)

Like I said I am no expert in making Lightening stuff like that. I have no clue. I am glad you helped out as much as you did Keytotime. I hope you'll make some more Removal addons to share on the forums. :)
