Kel, will you please update the msjava.dll, so we won't have problems anymore with the Microsoft Virtual Machine? You have the link for it in the previous posts.

Hiya Sereby.

It would be excellent to see this updated on a regular basis. Are you taking over the maintenance of this pack completely now?

Cos if Kel has passed it over to you I think it would be best to close this thread and start your releases off in a new one. Otherwise members visiting this post will just see Kels older version might grab that without realising that you have a new up-to-date one buried down here at the end of the thread.

Maybe you and Kel can sort that out between you and close this thread if required, to save possible confusion.

Cheers

it'd be good to see someone takeover this.. i think runtime updates are great.. i've been avoiding a lot of kel's stuff for a while, i don't think his stuff are built of good quality unlike mrs p and foxy.

yeah, save the confusion and mess again and again.. thanks

Could you also post a changelog so we know what you've updated?

Does it make any difference that this is a German language pack?

is it possible to remove msjava.dll from this pack, it causes problems with windows update and shouldnt be needed if using sun java. IF not I will have to stop using this pack.

Hi Sereby, thanks for updating this pack but would it be possible to see if there's a bug somewhere in the compression/duplicate file copying as my clean install with just ryans 2.13 update pack and your runtime addon pack with 10 extra files(+5MB) compared to kels seems to blow the source out to 692MB(+126MB) whereas Kels pack only increases the source to 573MB(+9MB), thus I don't have much room for extras on a 700MB CD using your pack :( , ta.

Edit: after checking the I386 folder after integrating your pack there are heaps of dll's uncompressed(306 or 80MB) whereas using kels addon pack there's only the kbd and a few other dll's(115 or 7.03MB) so I think something in your pack or the registering of the runtimes along the line might be breaking the compression of the integrator somehow.

about what are you talking? in my pack is nothing changed only file updates! if you integrate the pack only a 10mb RUNTIMES.CAB and a 1kb Runtimes.in_.. all other is not from me.. so first try it with a clean source..

when you have a 126mb bigger cd after integrating ryans pack then is there anything wrong! the size should be 1mb or more smaller after integrating it

I'll try from my bosses computer at work tomorrow. I've tried everything under the sun here again twice with no luck. My computer only likes Kels slightly outdated pack for some reason :(.

I confirm what Tasslehoff sad. Sereby, try to integrate in your xp cd all the addons that you usualy use and Kell's runtimes pack, then do the same cd with your runtimes pack and see the difference. Something it's wrong, and I can't find what.

i can tell you why kel's work and the german one don't.

first of all, i use the german one cuz kel's out of date. the issue is

the german version has not properly followed rules on creating update packs. and im not even an addon maker.

the solution is very easy. rename entries.ini to entries_whateverulike.ini

done.

"the german version has not properly followed rules on creating update packs"

i think this is a clear point of the view from the user! there are no rules when i make addons i make them and they work with nlite and my updatepack! when ryan has any extra sausages then why doesnt he/signet change this ^^

but i could think about it :)

Please dont take this the wrong way, but did this ever get fixed?

I really don't know why this was dropped by the creator. I thought it was a rather cool and useful addon pack, to be honest.

It'd be nice to see this Addon actively maintained. Good to have dll files up to date. I wonder if the dlls are all up to date at this point... are they?

I am soo sorry that I neglected this addon for so long...

I promise I will continue to mantain it from now on.

Removed msjave because suns java is much better, more widely used and updated frequently.

Updated!

P.S. This addon is multi-lingual except for the fact a couple of the dlls do come in languase specific versions.

One question:
OpenAL32.dll 6.14.357.19 <---- does this mean I won't need to install the OpenAL 1.9.9 addon pack?

Kel, I just wanted to drop in and say thank you for your continued work on this and all other add ons that you do.

This add on in particular saves me quite a few head aches when running software that doesn't come with all the stuff it needs.

Thanks

hi Kel,

I think you could add libmmd.dll to this addon

here it is, version 9.1.9.2:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/r5im16

found at rarewares.org, with this description:
Intel 9.1 libmmd.dll
Some ICL-compiled files require this library.

If you want the newer MSVC8 runtimes, download the SP1 update for Visual Studio 2005. They're all build 8.0.50727.762 now.
