Before I discovered this trick I had to use .LNK files and add them to CopyFiles, but not anymore...

Im also thinking of making a tutorial of some of my INF discoveries like how to make a really bitchin INF Un-Installer, one that Prompts and uses TASKKILL to kill the program before DelFiles to ensure deletion of the file and if that dosent work an automatic way to do it on restart using FLAGS

Hey rick, if I use this addon do I have to install the Firefox adapter manually?

Yes you have to install it manually, the reason is your %userprofile% is not created until you run FF for the first time... (but the latest adapter is included in this addon)... Go to Options>Adapter>Install

Thanks for the heads up... Updated

Off Topic: I'm glad somebody other than me is using this addon. I had quit updating it (only updating my personal one) because nobody seemed to use it.

I only add a few "essentials" other than all MS updates: WinRAR, CCleaner and AIRoboForm. I can't seem to convince anyone else who's computers I install to actually use AIRoboForm, but I do think that from "just" a user perspective, it's kind of intimidating at first with as many options as it has. Really, I have yet to explore it's advanced capabilities.

Thanks much, ricktendo64!

Oh, plz, plz, plz don't stop! :D This is one of my most essential progs on my comp, right behind the OS, AV, and firewall. I've got the whole family using it and trying to get everyone I know to use it.

Back on topic - I've purchased the full verion and the portable verion. Any idea how I can get my OrderID into the addon so it's fully registered? Or, is that something I have to do after my first boot?

I too am a long-time user of RF (since 5.4). It may sound kind of silly, but it is the primary reason I have not moved to a flavor of Linux; Siber Systems has absolutely ZERO intention of building a linux version. And I am hooked on this software; I would not want to work without it.
Anyway, I never realized that anybody was maintaining an addon for it. I've always installed it with its silent switch "/unatt".

To answer your activation question... I believe the only way to pre-load your OrderID would be to AutoIt. Sorry, but I haven't written such a script. If I do I'll be sure to post it.

I use the free version, so IDK what files or registry entries are added when you add your registration

If I did yea I could probably add it

If there is any help I could provide to get registration data into the addon, I certainly can try to provide it. I have to confess, however, I've never written any scripts or used any programming languages. Quite frankly, I've been trying for the last 5 to 6 monthes to get a unattended cd to work for me (I don't really have a lot of time devote to this project, but I keep trying). I could search for files or registry entries, but I'd need an idea about the best way to go about it.

Roboform stores the registration info in a file called license.rfo

Really? Is it that simple? I don't know...each user on my machine has this file in their data folder, and the files are different sizes and have different created and modified dates. The access dates are the same, but the times are different.

The license.rfo can be in "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\RoboForm\license.rfo" to license the app for ALL USERS, or "...\My RoboForm Data\[Profile]\license.rfo" on a "per-profile" basis.

I believe that the .rfo is also MACHINE (or at least Hard Disk) specific. Meaning that simply putting your .rfo file in the right folder may not work. I believe RF creates the license using your OrderID, etc from the online database and and combines it with some machine-specific parameter to generate the license. That is why you can't just copy Roboform2Go onto a different USB stick and have it still be Pro.

It will be interesting to see if injecting this license.rfo into the cab will work.

Well, that didn't quite work. As you can see, it picks up the total time I've had RF installed and the number of Passcards I have from the license.rfo file, but it still wants to be activated.

Thanks Rick. I just found that after you pointed it out. So are you saying I should take the installer from Siber Systems, found here, and do a RunOnceEx install? I've been doing that with your Windows Defender installer, and believe it or not, I've got it working. For this, I believe the lines that go in the .inf file would look something like this:
HKLM,"%RunOnceEx%\install05",,,"AiRoboForm 6.9.88""
HKLM,"%RunOnceEx%\install05",1,,"%10% apps\AiRoboform.exe /unatt /act="<orderid>,<user name>""
Am I right?

**edit** April 24, 2008

Tried that. While the options were copied over, Roboform was not activated. I contacted Siber Systems and am waiting for a response.

**edit** June 24, 2008

I used the Thomas Edison method to figure this one out: trial and error! Siber Systems was really of no help.
To perform an unattended installation of Roboform and have it activated at first boot (i.e. a fully licensed, activated PRO version of Roboform via RunOnceEx installation), I must copy my pre-existing, activated license.rfo file from %allusersprofile%\Application Data\RoboForm directory and place it in the $OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Application Data\RoboForm directory on my installation CD, AND use the /act switch with either version of the syntax.
The syntax I'm referring to is:
HKLM,"%RunOnceEx%\install03",1,,"%10%\apps\AiRoboform6990.exe /unatt /options=%10%\apps\options.rfo /act="orderid,user name""

OR

HKLM,"%RunOnceEx%\install03",1,,"%10%\apps\AiRoboform6990.exe /unatt /options=%10%\apps\options.rfo /act=\"orderid,user name\""
They both work.

Rick, if you can find a way to activate your pack using the oderid and user name, I think it would work with copying over the license.rfo file. I'd rather have a svcpack install rather than using RunOnceEX, that way I can use ENU's Fetcher. Or maybe ENU can make Fetcher RunOnceEX compatible?!

Thanks again for your response, it really got me going to try to find a way to solve this.

OFF Topic: Forgive me if the Windows Defender addon I mentioned above is not yours. I can no longer find the source where I got it, and there is no reference in it as to who the maker is. I'm almost sure I thought it was you. It's a great one though, just keep updating the defs in the WinRAR archive and it's like brand-new.

Passcards_fetcher_for ricks_AIRoboForm \ 3063F1912BA42346588743ED5C2CD4BF

rick this a small Pass Cards fetcher addin maker for this addon, works!
integrate this one time and it will create a separate addon next to 1386 @ the root holding the passcards found in a new addon
you will need Ricks AI RoboForm addon to be integrated or integrate both at once
this works with rvm integrator only!

@ all: Check out my last post above, I just updated it.

@ENU_user: From what directory do you fetch the PassCards? Mine reside in My Documents\My RoboForm Data\User Name directory. When I use your addon(s), I end up with an empty archive.

Thanks for your addon, by the way. It's a really good idea.

Roboform was updated to 6.9.90 a few days ago for Firefox 3.0 Final compatibility.

I am thinking of doing away with this addon since the installer now supports so many switches

Code: Select all

---------------------------
RoboForm Install/Uninstall command-line switches
---------------------------
Common command-line parameters:
  /?, /help - this help message
/silent - command-line operation, user intervention only on errors
/unatt - command-line operation, no user intervention, log errors and exit
/silent and /close are also set by this option
/reboot - force reboot if necessary, don't ask user
/close - force browsers to close, don't ask user
/lang=<xx-xxxxxx> - set setup language to the specified RFI file
  /temp=<folder> - use existing path <folder> instead of %temp%
/unpack=<folder> - unpack files to the specified folder

Fixed Install parameters:
  /home=<user data folder>
  /bin=<RF program files folder>
/options=<file> - copy options from the specified RFO file
/gator - import user data from Gator
  /import - import IE AutoComplete
/passwd=<file> - copy specified password file
/act="<orderid>,<user name>" - perform the activation after installation

---------------------------
OK

Documents and Settings\Default User\My Documents\My RoboForm Data\Default Profile

move or copy them ..and try again
I was afraid you would say something like that. My trouble is, I have 6 separate user accounts on my machine, 3 of which have passcards in their own My Documents\RoboForm Data\user name folders. Oh well, I think what I'll try is to manually "fetch" each users passcards, use my favorite compressor and make .EXEs that are configured to decompress back to each users default passcard directory and call the .EXEs at RunOnceEx.
I am thinking of doing away with this addon since the installer now supports so many switches
:( Sorry to see it go. A svcpack addon is so much easier to use than RunOnceEx, IMO. It's like plug-n-play versus building your own. I understand though. From my experience with what little I've done, you addon makers are like gods. Keep up the good work on your other projects! :D

Updated...The program was multilingual before but now i made it so it only installs one of 8 languages that I see updatepacks for on this and other forums

BTW if a Chinese dude is reading this what language would be best for these places?

1- Chinese - China
2- Chinese - Hong Kong SAR
3- Chinese - Macau SAR
4- Chinese - Singapore
5- Chinese - Taiwan

cn-Chinese or zh-Chinese???
