I've posted a new build (2.0.4) of Svcpack addon, with reg modifications.

If you wish, you can download it again from first post link and see if this one works for you...

thx

If your UpdateAddReg.INF file is installed after windows setup completes, then it is fine. ;)

try using a silent switch for IE7 with its corresponding hotfixes with WPI @ runonce
maybe turn this to a runonce Post install script and that it!.
hopefully this will avoid future surprises & the need for workarounds

Yeah I think it should be made into a wpi Addon. ;) then it would be simple to integrate it as a runonce addon. :D Or it can be made into an addon that integrates into svcpack and basically it runs a batch file to add it to runonceex. The only thing I don't like about runonceex is that it must be used with a winnt.sif file. So if it is integrated as svcpack but a batch file (or script) adds it to runonceex then it is still integrated without the need of winnt.sif. :D

Awesome I will test it later today! :D Thx!

edit:
Nope still the same issue. I wonder if it is because I specify the homepage in my winnt.sif file? But there are issues with applying the first settings, search provider... plus I have to go into my internet settings and enable "Allow Previously Unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt", to successfully use many websites like Microsoft Update.

But if the IE7Updates.inf is installed after windows setup is complete all is fine. I bet the only way around this issue is installing that inf through runonceex?

Edit2: My bad. it is working! :D I was repacking the IE7.exe with my IE7.sfx and my IE7.txt and obviously your IE7.txt has changed to fix the issue. ;)

Can you send me the new IE7.txt? Thanks! I like to repack it to be uninstallable. ;) I'm not sure of why you don't make yours uninstallable? It doesn't make the installer any smaller does it? As far as I know it just makes the installer backup the IE6 settings on the computer for uninstalling IE7 later doesn't it? Thanks again!

There is a conflict between redxii's RED_XP_SP3_UpdatePack_1.8 and OnePiece's OnePiece_IE7AddOn_2.1.0_INTL_Only_for_RVMi;

below is a quote from reduxii's reply to my querry in his SP3 5508 update pack forum here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5687

"OnePiece_IE7AddOn_2.1.0_INTL_Only_for_RVMi is using my Dir ID that i'm using for Flash. The IE7 addon is overwriting my Dir ID and so it is installing Flash in the wrong place."

The end result is Flash does not install at all and the Macromedia folder is not even created in system32. This concern is not there in the previous release.

Thanks.

Yes this is an issue with RVMi 1.5.1. It is fixed in 1.5.2 which I am going to release very soon. ;)

A long time ago the integrator was coded to only increment numbers if they were higher than 299. 299 and below were to be kept for Update Packs and priginal Windows codes. But... since time has passed that has been forgotten and a few addons have started using codes below 300. I don't know why we decided to do it this way. But it will be changed in 1.5.2. ;)

Windows XP SP2 plain vanilla only:
RUN Automatic OnePiece IE7 v2.1.0 Own AddOn Creator INTL.exe 536 Kb
http://www.adrive.com/public/c5a3ed9703 ... dd36c.html
Hash MD5 70F8D88F0333BA51D379665962E25E41

the final entries.ini reports it as sp3. and sure it should be sp2.

Can't wait for cleaning that messy first post. ;)
If someone prefers to cling to SP2, he can use the excellent MrNxDmx true addon or Onepiece's Svcpack stuff (Addon, RVMi plugin or Addon Maker)

I really think that MrNxDmx's Pack is excellent: I've used it for a long time, localized by myself, and now I use Onepiece one mainly because it's available in Italian.

So, just to clarify nonno fabio, have the True Addons on the first page been updated to support SP3 *only* in future (as in they'll no longer work with an SP2+RVMUP source)? And the T-13 installers are the only SP2-compatible options now?

Source:
Native WinXP SP2 CD >> Slipstream SP3

Addons:
xable_WGAV-v1.3_addon.cab
OnePiece_IE7AddOn_2.1.1_ENU.7z

Integrator:
RyanVM 1.5.3

Machine:
VirtualBox 1.5.6

Result:
The Xable WGAV file was added but...
The OnePiece_IE7 2.1.1 didn't work.
The theme became classic and there was no IE7 on the Program Files.
There was even no OOBE. It goes right to Administrator account (which I always disabled after everything has setup complete).

Image
The first IE7 Icon was acutally a globe, but I select to view IE7 after.

Am I'm the only one have this?

can I use the "Integrator scripting" addon (the one labeled as "the better method for Integrator user"), more precisely the "true addon, direct integration" one, on a SP2+UpdatePack source?

edit: looked at the source, it's also only for SP3

No you are not the first person to have this problem. I have similar problems (does the same ting) except with a very different set of addons. I can only assuming that during your setup, something did not get registered properly or even copied to the CD properly. I still have not determined what *my* problem is, but it acts just like yours.

XP SP3 RTM causes many problems with addons which worked flawlessly with previous XP builds,

We've tested thousand of times IE7 addon to fit SP3 at best and we're pretty sure it works without problems: Onepiece has found a workaround that seems to solve all that SP3 annoyances. We hope it could be integrated in Integrator soon.

However, try to integrate IE7 addon on SP3 WITHOUT anything else (even Wga addon) and report if there are same issues

for all switchless addons here:

there is a bug with how the config file gets packed with 7zSD.sfx

its persistently changing "update.inf" to "IE7update.inf"

anyway's the workaround is to copy "update.inf" on the source to "IE7update.inf" .

if doesn't matter to the install i guess the second RunProgram= command can be obsoleted

I used RUN Automatic OnePiece IE7 v2.1.0 Own AddOn Creator INTL.exe to make a pt-pt addon.

The installation goes well but there is a icon of IE6 on the desktop and when I click on it , it only creates another shortcut of IE6 on the desktop. But IE7 is in program files etc and it works perfectly .... weird

@Cipherfx2: yes

@Wazer: image is obsolete

@ENU_user: Onepiece is well-aware of that; the file is rename in IE7update.inf because now it is put in c:\windows\inf and leaving its original name caused problems. The addon now executes reglines integration in two times: first at T-13, second at first boot.

@ronmanp: if clickin on IE icon, it creates a new IE icon, integration is not turned out well perhaps because an addon inf file has crashed subsequent addons inf files: I suggest you to try a new integration and see if the Icon bug remains

tnx to all of you

using OnePiece_IE7AddOn_2.1.0_INTL_For_WinXP.&.Win2k3_Only_for_RVMi.7z I end up with Flash Player 6 installed??

edit: just noticed that it's already on my clean sp3 source. never noticed that before. what a crazy idea, shipping flash 6 with windows.

When using OnePiece_IE7AddOn_2.1.0_INTL_For_WinXP.&.Win2k3_Only_for_RVMi.7z

with SP3 and:

RED_XP_SP3_UpdatePack_2.1.0
DirectX_9.0c_End-User_Runtime_AddOn_0.3.4_-_redxii

I get a few problems. First is the IE7 config screen -where I select search providers, phishing, and cleartype. When I click "Apply Settings," nothing happens. When I try Microsoft Update, I get a prompt to install an activex control, but no information bar to right-click.

Not using nlite. Integrator, WMP11 slipstreamer and driverpacks only.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: Tried without driverpacks or WMP11, same result.

I think is not due to RVMI plugin.
However if you want to fix your problem, try this:
open ie7.inf in C:\windows\inf.
Change the lines:

Code: Select all

;by OnePiece
[Version]
Signature=$Windows NT$

[Optional Components]
Internet Explorer 7

[Internet Explorer 7]
in

Code: Select all

;by OnePiece
[Version]
Signature=$Windows NT$

[Optional Components]
Internet Explorer 7

[DefaultInstall]
Save, close and click on the file: this should correct IE7 installation.

Open IE and see if now is all O.K.

Thanks for the quick reply nonno fabio. I tried the same (minimal) config with OnePiece_IE7AddOn_2.1.1_ENU.7z and all worked fine.

I would still prefer your solution because -as I understand it- it replaces files instead of adding them. Is there a way for me to use your fix on an unattend install? Maybe a tweak of ie7.ini?

I am having problems with integreting IE7 and installing thru Winnt32 while installing thru Vista PE. Thru RVM as mentioned in your post there are just two files with 8.3 file names error.

Regular install thru the CD works fine. If I install thru Winnt32.exe method IE7 is missing and certain other services.

Please advise I have tried all sorts of things I have even tried with just IE7 and RVM 1.5.3.

Quick question - is the NonnoFabio addon still compatible with SP2, what with it being a switchless installer? :)

Hi,

I've applied "true addon, classic method" 2.1.1 and "true addon, RVMi scripting method" 2.1.0 (in fact, it DO IS 2.1.1, look inside ), and noticed some differences between results:

classic addon patches syssetup.dll (then restores the original after install), whereas scripting addon simply doesn't patch it... is it normal?

IE.INF, section [Base.RegSvr]
script addon contains "11,,ieframe.dll,2", not classic addon
I don't know which is the correct one

IE7.INF, section [Strings]
classic addon says IE7NAME="Internet Explorer 7 (For Windows XPSP2)"
should be "Windows XP SP3", as the scripting addon

SYSSETUP.INF, section [OleControlDlls]
some unexplained differences...
classic addon:
11,,ieframe.dll,2
;11,,msrating.dll,1
;11,,inseng.dll,1
;11,,webcheck.dll,1
;11,,imgutil.dll,1
;11,,pngfilt.dll,1
scripting addon:
11,,mshtml.dll,3
11,,msrating.dll,1
11,,inseng.dll,1
11,,webcheck.dll,1
11,,imgutil.dll,1
11,,pngfilt.dll,1
TXTSETUP.SIF, section [FileFlags]:
classic addon contains "xmllite.dll=16", not the scripting addon
I don't know wich is the correct one

Thanks for the explanations you could provide, cheers

continuing investigations... seems "scripting addon" does things in a cleaner way an requires less workarounds

I have one more question, let's look at this line, it deserves to register a file with an INF:
11,,mshtml.dll,3
I know 1 calls DllRegisterServer, 2 calls DllInstall, but I don't know what 3 does...

classic addon doesn't patch anymore syssetup.dll as default: this is the reason of that diiference.

Other ones are cosmetic errors, alreaedy known and fixed in next release. Thanks for pointing them out

Hi, this link doesn't appear to work. It takes me to the ADrive page and never automatically starts downloading. When I click the manual link to download, it gives me a page that says this:
File does not exist. If you believe this file should exist, and you are receiving this message in error, please contact support@adrive.com for assistance
Did ya forget to edit with the new link? :D

I've downloading other files through ADrive right before it with no problem.

Thank you.

It downloaded just fine for myself roirraW "edor".

Of course I am trying to figure out exactly what the "cosmetic" addon does.

Well, weird. I just tried it from another computer and it's working for me, too. After it happened on the original computer, I tried again the first link to his IE7 addon and that worked, only this one didn't. Oh well, thanks!

Maybe it just deletes the contents of a log file? :D

it patches syssetup.dll (original dll restored after install, personally I suppress this "restoration step"), in order to be able to use a modified syssetup.inf

so, its purpose is to modify syssetup.inf :
some entries are removed (to be exact: commented) and one new is added

in summary, it corrects syssetup.inf to reflect install changes caused by IE7 integration
