[Tool] Sysinternals AIO Suite AddOn Pack Builder 0.3.1R1

Post by Nico » Fri Aug 17, 2007 5:38 am

This small builder pack will download the latest version of the full SysInternals utilities suite and automatically create an AddOn CAB file that can be used with the RyanVM Integrator to integrate these tools into your Windows source.

What the difference with the other builder?
The other builder give you the choice between the most used SysInternals tools to build a personal flavoured addon. This addon don't because I like to have every tools under the hand even if I use it only one time in the year. It also included a GUI for the PSTools.

How to run: extract the buider from the archive, double-click on it, and follow the instructions...

Nico, speaking for myself, I much preferred the previous download/build behavor of your addon pack creator.

Please consider keeping the downloaded files, the created .cab, and all other 'stuff' in the same directory as the pack builder .exe (as it was before). I'd rather not have new directories created especially in the root of my system drive.

Also, do you plan on merging the functions of your two SysInternals builder packs at all? You could always download the Suite (plus the handful of utils that aren't included in the suite), then ask the user if they want to build a custom installer cab or an AIO cab?

thanks

Thanks for thi awesome AddOnn, it works flawless!

A little sugestion anyway, for console based applications, such as hex2dec.exe, it would be nice to add installation directory in PATH variable OR copy these applications in %SystemRoot% folder. Just a suggestion ;)

Cheers,
Kal

$PATH is far more desireable than polluting %systemroot% or %systemdrive%.

I modified a bit default inf file :
  • INF is now copied to inf directory if defaultinstall
  • added french translation
  • modified some strings for programs name
  • all eula accepted
  • use variable to maintain easily

Kal

EDIT: I drop the idea to modify path, as there's "browser" shortcut in start menu to go in sysinternals directory.

I do it for myself and if someone want to use it too, he can.
It's threadopeners choice to integrate in in first post

Actually, forum rules and convention, and general politeness, says that anyone who wants to modify an existing addon, much less provide a link in the same thread, should always get the permission of the original poster first. But from reading through this thread, Daenon and Nico seem to be cooperating.

Cheers and Regards.
