Dated Dec 30 2005 even the uberpack.in_ is dated 12/29/2005.
I think Kel's computer is a wee bit off as far as month is concerned.

also whats up with some of the file dates in your packs...somewhat advanced 15/12/05...working on a computer with incorrect date set.

@glent,in your %WinDir%\inf folder there is a file called avneet.inf, right click install that, that is what carries out the association for notepad2

FYI to Kel.:
OK I'm now using the v4 of pack from earlier this morning and the notepad2 and .txt problem mentioned above doesn't occur for me. Same as it was before on 3.8. So there may not be a bug per se in the pack.

BTW the month date thing isn't affecting anything on the XP install or the autorun stuff.

All the packs I used with Ryan's integrator was yours + ryan's update + dotnetfx 1.1 + your openAL (which got overwritten by the offical A1 AUD_EAX4DRV_031031.exe creative drivers when installed, BTW. That one being 'slipstreamed' isn't gonna do anything permanent when one has to install those drivers in order to get the rest of Creative software to install off of original CD then apply the various updates from Creative) + adobe 7.0.5 pack + winrar pack + irvanview pack.

i installed 3.9 and it still doesn't work . (blank notepad pops up)

I installed the INF and rebooted,yeah Notepad is no the defasult editor but the shortcut in the start menu still opens the original notepad.

Guys alot more testing is need in these packs we alove love your work but label it as beta if you dont know if its stable

Damnit Glent we test the hell outta these like i said earlier notepad2 was NOT actually a full replacement of notepad so of course the damn shortcut will still open the original notepad. As for the issue of it not being registered you are tho only one to have that come up so it might not even be the pack! ANY software that is constantly being developed and modified can be considered BETA for bugs are to be found. Even Ryan's great update pack has had bugs. Both Ryan and booogys WMP pack have had a couple of bugs and you aren't over there bitching at them. As for testing, as long as no problems are found we still do at lease 4 more VM tests and a couple of real installs, but you have to remember these are ALL done on the same couple of systems so we can't test for everything and as you well should know every system is different....

@Kel, I can see that you have included a particular executable in your addon called "Junction" which is from Sysinternals. You haven't documented it in the main addon page, so, what is its use in the addon? If other programs in the addon have some dependencies on it, what are those programs?

I'm asking you these questions because i'm eliminating some items in your Uber pack to suit my own needs.

junction was needed with some of the right click context menus to fix problems with spaces in paths, more specificly modifype.

@glent, i have had your problem i know it can be reproduced. and i stated way earlier (oops my mistake in another thread) that this will occur if you integrate using nlite, because the part that modifies the reg settings for notepad uses the extrafileedits section of entries ini that up to last time i checked was not compatible with nlite. hope this helps, and try to understand kel, he is really tired, i know for a fact hes been going without sleep trying to make his pack as bugfree and up to date as possible, but he is only one man trying his best, so try to lighten up a little bit.

--edit as for right clicking a txt file for printing, and replacing notepad shortcut on start menu ill try fix that right away.

@larciel, ive checked the reg settings for controling the right click print and since 3.8 they are the same, so i have no clue as to why you are having your problem, as for me ive tried it (for those who constant complaing about testing) on 1 vmware and 27 yes you heard me right twenty seven different pc's (@kel my old man finally gave in an bought the employes some new more up to date pc's) ranging in mark from 12 dell, 13 hp's. and 2 alienwares, one for me and one for my bro. all of which i reformated, with a cd created using:
rvm update pack 2.0.1
integrator 1.05
kels uber pack 4.0
kel cpl pack 1.6
dgelwins_dotnet2.0_guirunonce_addon
more than a few theme packs, the ones i have tested previosuly to make sure they work
my royal_inspiratse_theme pack, created using stefankas awesome royal isnspirat se theme(in default mode so that it would take over as default theme for all pc's)--note yes i know i havent released this addon, but thats because until up to yesterday morning i finished all the reg entries for the icons, interactive flash logon with clock and display pick-sees. and a custom glassy skin for lclock were finished.
dales' 7 zip, spybot, ad-aware program addons
booogys wmp10 moded + my own regtweaks.
windows media conect 2.
Microsoft Office 2003 (a silent installer created and slimed downed like a model who pukes her lunch by me

)
and to top it off i trew in dotnet 1.1 plus hotfixes (available on ryans main page) in svcpack as well.
and the kicker. I fit it all on 1 yes 1 700mb cd

results right click printing worked sweet on all machines.

@larciel, but im not like most people who distrust on the forums, i know for a fact that not every machine is alike and some give trouble, so if you keep having this problem with 4.0 post all details of your install what mods, changes, additions or removed things and most important what prog you used to integrate, and i will do me best to help pack fix your problem

@kamil. i say give it a try go ahead and integrate in a 64 bits os disc as far as i know no actual essential system files are replaced in kels pak so who knows it might actually work.
--note use integrator 1.05 to integrate, and do not integrate ryans pack, only this addon im not sure maybe ryan can comment on this but i dont think his pack is meant for xp64.

also lumina told me she has been using kels pack succesfully in windows mce, and that she was even goign to try it in windows 2003, and if that worked she is going to try windows 98 lol, (ok so this last part is a joke but she is going to try on windows 2k and 2k3)

@dgelwin. There's no way for Kel's pack to run on x64. This is a my post from other forum section

None of the Addons designed for 32-bit OS are likely compatible with x64-based because of one little thing, x64 uses a bit different file entries in txtsetup.sif

For example:
entry to a .inf file to be executed
= 1,,,,,,,20,0,0 (64-bit)
= 100,,,,,,,20,0,0 (32-bit)

EDIT: I'm actually going to update my current addons, will borrow Kel's app list

right click print works fine now.. it's excellent idea!! (use notepad1 on that feature only) .txt file opens with notepad2 beautifully!

@larciel, tnx i figured you guys would like that, the reason i figured to use notepad1 for printing was simple notepad2's /p switch is not for printing its for the position of the window, also because notepad2 has no command line switch for printing as far as i am aware. and until they add one im pretty sure this way works nice.

its probablly checking for updates, i disabled the automatic downloas on it but i believe the check for update feature still was activated.
