I'm still working on a WMP10 pack, but boooggy and I are also working on getting our packs to a point where we can join them up and he can continue with further maintenance. We're working on it

Just to be difficult... any chance of leaving that stuff in and continuing to distribute WMP10 "as is"? Maybe someone else could produce a trimmed version if need be?

Thanks,
Andy

It's very easy to translate this add-on pack. You only need the following system files from the localised Windows Media Player 10 Setup package:
It's important you copy the localized CAT, CHM, INF, WPL and WMZ files
Also you don't need to install KB895181 and KB907658. These are older.
Code: Select all
asferror.dll
audiodev.dll
mpvis.DLL
MSWMDM.dll
setup_wm.exe
unregmp2.exe
wmerror.dll
wmpband.dll
wmplayer.exe
wmploc.DLL
wmpshell.dll
Also you don't need to install KB895181 and KB907658. These are older.
These are older than the KB891122 file versions. Never mind. These files are in this pack I mean.boooggy wrote:wrong.......hp38guser wrote: Also you don't need to install KB895181 and KB907658. These are older.
older then what?
I have now the Add-on converted to Dutch. It does install fine, works fine. I only have to fix a couple of digital signature warnings:
Code: Select all
drmclien.dll
drmstor.dll
cewmdm.dll
mspmsnsv.dll
mspmsp.dll
msscp.dll
wmdmlog.dll
wmdmps.dll

I have observed at least two problems with my installation of this addon.
First, if i open my music files via, Start Menu-->My Music folder-->any music files-->then select Play on the task pane, WMP won't launch or no response at all. By launching first WMP app then selecting the same files via Library or any other options to play the file/s within WMP, it will play the files fine.
Second, if i launch WMP with Library as the default tab, i get double entries of directories on the left pane. But consequently right after this, when i click other tabs then click back Library tab, directories on the left pane will display normally.
I'm using the latest Siginet Integrator v1.0.1 + RyanVM Update 2.0 + RyanVMWMP10 v1.3 Addon.

@troscat
at least for for second one i know is not the addon....this is an old issue
and is a bug from m$.......
@hp38guser
try this one: http://rapidshare.de/files/6800708/wmp1 ... h.cab.html
but u still have to do 2 little things:
translate this 2 files: entries_wmp10.ini and wmp10.inf. the last one is cabbed so u have to expand it translate it and then cab it back.

I'm not getting the option to use the miniplayer toolbar in the taskbar right-click menu. I was wondering if you're using regsvr32.exe with GUIRunOnce, RunOnceEx, or a different method? Only asking because I'm using GUIRunOnce with Bâshrat's DPs on my UA DVD and don't see the command. I'm not familiar enough with RunOnceEx to check...
EDIT:
I was hoping that the DriverPacks were interfering somehow, but I'm getting the same result without them. I like how you've set up the [Tweaks.AddReg] section. I'm able to add a few of my own...
I absolutely hate how WMP assumes by default that it can change the thousands of ID3 tags I've worked so hard to create and fix. DisableMRU is a gem for those with wives and pr0n.
@bledd:
It appears that boooggy already has this one covered for you in wmp10.inf:
EDIT:
@boooggy:
Looking more closely at the INF I can see where you've set up wmpband.dll to be registered (twice). I wish it would work for me, but I might still be able make it work using regsvr32.exe in a CMD using GUIRunOnce. Maybe you could use RunOnceEx to get this working if it's a problem for others as well, if what I'm thinking is correct.

It should be pretty easy to add the others you want gone by following his example in [Tweaks.DelReg].bledd wrote:;Removes 'Add to Sync List' and 'Add to Burn List'

I still have problems with the following files:
Anyone knows where these come from? If known can someone provide me the right catalog files?
I just don't want to see any error about this in the setuperr.log file
Code: Select all
cewmdm.dll
mspmsnsv.dll
mspmsp.dll
msscp.dll
wmdmlog.dll
wmdmps.dll
I just don't want to see any error about this in the setuperr.log file
cewmdm.dll --> wmfdist95
mspmsnsv.dll --> wmfdist95
mspmsp.dll --> wmfdist95
msscp.dll --> wmfdist95
wmdmlog.dll --> wmfdist95
wmdmps.dll --> wmfdist95
I am having trouble with only 2 files now Drmclien.dll & Drmstor.dll.
I can't seem to figure out which CAT file governs it.
@HP38...are you not seeing errors on these?

I found out about WMFDist95 update for Windows MCE:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=900325
I got the newer files now. Drmclien.dll and Drmstor.dll have their signatures stored in DRM10.cat from the Windows Media Player 10 SETUP (build 3802).
In the Add-on pack the newer DRM10.cat is used from Media Center Roll-up update 2. However there is no signature information for these 2 dll's in the newer cat. I renamed the original DRM10.cat and added at to the pack. Don't forget to change the [svcpack_catalogs] section in entries.ini.

Yeah, I found when adding the wfmdist95 update that I had to keep the old DRM10.cat around to maintain all the proper signatures as well.

yes it is. I just renamed one of them to drm10-2.cat and all works fine. boooggy - what entries do you think sp2.cat contains?

Success...the DRM thing is back...BUT
It seems that your entries file thinks that KB895181 is obsolete but the hotfix updates MP4SDMOD.DLL to the version of 10.0.0.3911...
KB895181.cat is in the SVCPACK folder includes this file but the catalog is not installed.
<More to come once I rebuild the pack and try one more cat for the other files>

I personally use SigCheck to see if files have a signature in a specific catalgo file.
Thanks hp38guser
