I think it's a bug.
Thanks for pointing it out
EDIT: yes, will be fixed in next version.
In the meantime you could:
- delete the part in red from this registry line:

It is pity that such a beautiful addon cannot be made use by more, simply because it is difficult to understand the meaning & context of the 1st post. Since it is not explained properly there, it all too confusing & seems very complicated, even though in reality it is (should be) much simpler.nonno fabio wrote:RVMi script and True addon are alternative ways to integrate WMP 11 in your source: you must use only one of them. RVMi script is a safer way to integrate but it's a little more complicated than True Addon.
If you want to use RVMi script, simply follow the image: you must add RVMi script.7z link with others in "choose addon pack(s)" section of RVMi GUI and place WMP11 setup file and all the WMP11 hotfixes you find in the image attached to first post (change KB944110 with KB950478) in Plugins directory of RVMi program.
If you prefer True addon, add its link in "choose addon pack(s)" section of RVMi GUI and nothing else.
Issues:-
The fact that only the 1st item (True-Addon download) is really required, for the english users is not clear from the 1st post. The other two downloads (scripts & addonmaker) is only an alternative method & not needed for majority users is not clear, and drives away possibly many potential users who do not have the initial patience to read thru all the following posts, to decipher context.
The names of the downloads is making matters worse. "For_WinXP_only" says second download, implying possibly other downloads are not for Win_XP!, whereas it is not really the case.
If you examine the thread, many of the subsequent queries are related to the confusion created by the 1st post, & nonnofabio is spending more time& energy to settle confusion. Rather he could have invested a portion of this time&energy into cleaning up the first post.
Prey please do consider this as a constructive criticism.
It would be nice if nonnofabio can include atleast the quoted portion above (from his own post) in to the first post.
Request also to update the change log in the first post. Adding dates into the changelog items is also a good idea.
Thanks & regards
I also hope your post it taken as constructive critisicm and not a complaint because I must admit that I too find myself reading the "instructions" over and over again...
Is the True Addon meant to be run by itself with no other addons? If you prefer True addon, add its link in "choose addon pack(s)" section of RVMi GUI and nothing else.

I'm not responsible for file names ("for WinXP_ only_for_RVMi" means "for RVMi only") but now first post is more descriptive: I hope it's more comprehensible now.
Sorry for my poor posts and thanks for your suggestions

You're not right in the 1st post, saying:
Until I installed it by manual.
Next try, when I will use 1.0.2, i will try to integrate this hotfix (898461) in nLite, then will write here again.
You're not right in the 1st post, saying:
The cause is not the WMP 11 addon. I've been using RyanVM's Update Pack since version 1.0, and Microsoft Update always showed KB898461 as missingImportant note!
Using Ryan's new 1.0.2 pack with Onepiece's WMP 11 addon causes KB898461 to show up on Microsoft update site.

nonno fabio is correct, Double Impact. laddanator and I have determined it's due to the WMP11 addon overwriting the file spupdsvc.exe in Ryan's update pack, which causes the problem. The fix we came up with was to rename OnePiece's file, allowing for both to exist in the source.
I'm one of Ryan's beta testers, and I have an update pack of my own. I should know.

Sometimes these livefilestore.com servers are a real pain to connect to, they keep returning some sort of 503 error.
I took the liberty to upload the "True" addon to other hosting services via Share2Many.
File name, size and hashes remain the same.
Edit: Links to v1.4.1 removed. Thanks a lot for the update and better hosting service.

You could ask Yumeyao: Localizing an addon is easier than creating a new one from the scratch...

*opps* link down again, could you use rapidshare (preferrable free collector's account to hold more than 10 downloads) or mediafire please?
Edit: *whoosp* googled a link, here it's:
http://www.hr-host.com/wincert/OnePiece ... 5.0_ENU.7z

Links are dead, please re-up some where else. (talking about script/creator).
edit:http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3645
Hmm,
The creator doesnt work with Dutch WMP11 + Hotfixes, same problem as with IE8 creator.
The addon doesnt include the hotfixes, NO SVCPACK also.
Weird.

The "OnePiece_WMP11AddOn_INTL_For_WinXP_Only_for_RVMi.7z"
Script for RVMi works fine tho.

Try to run Creator with NO active antivirus (for example, in a VM)

Allright i got everything working again.
The RVMi script works flawlessly.
One update for WMP11 is popping up at MU:
KB936782.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936782
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/securi ... 7-047.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... 5ea04d1f2b
Also my setuperr.log gives me some "regardless?" error:
And that i should check the file with SFC to check it.
edit:
Gonna try the creator now in my VM withouth antivirus, lets see.
edit2:
Doesnt work in VM also.

Its in Dutch, but it says that the wmplayer.exe isnt digitally signed bij MS.Fout:
Setup heeft vastgesteld dat systeembestand c:\program files\windows media player\wmplayer.exe
niet correct door Microsoft is ondertekend.
Kan dit bestand niet terugzetten naar de juiste versie.
Gebruik het hulpprogramma SFC om de integriteit van het bestand

Yes, it's true: Wmplayer.exe is no more digitally signed because WMP11 addon changes default WMP icon with Vista one, so it looses its signature. Simply ignore setuperr.log message.

i have a potentially stupid question, but ... why is the 2nd method necessary if the first one works with both nlite and RVMi? Second question...i havent yet tried the true addon creator so maybe the options are already in, but is it possible to have more options pre-configured in it? I mean for example enable dvd-ui or set receiving metadata or set firstrun completed a.s.o? Of course all this can be done with reg-tweaks, but...a little "point of thinking" here.
Most important question is why and everything begins of your choice
the second method is to help generate addon's for any language other then English. most of the available wmp11 hotfixes are "INTL" (international)
if anyone wanted wmp11 to be updated in a specific language. the script attached at the second link helps to do that..
btw, the hotfixes listed should have been linked so they could be easily found ...

Thanks, it will be added in the next release.
In the meantime you can build by yourself an updated addon using Addon Creator with the updated hotfixes.
